I am participating in a Vintage / Distressed swap at the SU! Convention in a couple of weeks and wanted to create something original and really “old” looking! This is what I came up with! I LOVE it! I love it so much, I created an extra one so that I can send it in to SU! for next months WOW ART contest! (I’ll keep you posted on that!)
I started this card with Naturals Ivory cardstock. I then used the background stamp called en Francais and versamark ink. I followed this with clear embossing powder over the script and used by SU! heat tool to set it. Once this was cooled down, I used my brayer and the new Krumb Cake ink and covered the card being sure not to do it perfectly. Remember, I want it to look old and worn out. Next, using Stazon black ink I stamped the cog pieces from the stamp set – Sense of Time – Item #113804 – $22.95 all over the card. Using SU! new DSP called “News Print”, I tore a strip and distressed it using a sponge and the Krumb cake ink. Using another piece of the DSP and Stazon ink, I stamped the clock face and cut it out. I stamped the face again on Natural Ivory and punched out (using the 1″ circle punch) the seconds circle and mounted it with dimensionals. I used a 5/16″ neutrals brad in the center. After assembly, I used the Log Cabin Smootch Spritz to really make it look old! The entire project was also sponged with Krumb Cake ink!
Great card, I recently got this set and am needing ideas. TFS
Wow! Lots of work! Very impressive. I always find it hard to come up with good ideas for vintage style cards. You did a great job with this one.
