Hello From the Caribbean!

Ok, first things first... the new cell phone that I bought before I left... so I could keep you posted... is NOT working!!  I am having to pay big money to make this post from the ship!  But you are ALL worth it!

This is our ship - Royal Caribbean - Adventure of the seas.  Our first port was Barbados!  Had a great time on a Catamaran and swam with the green sea turtles.   This is a photo from the catamaran of a turtle.

Today's stop was in St. Lucia where we did 11 zip lines through the rain forest!  Talk about awesome!!  Words can not even describe it.  Wanted to also share our 2nd night gifts with you all.  These were left in our room for us after we returned from dinner!

The purse matches the travel clutch that was sent prior to the trip!

Not sure I'll get to post again while here but wanted you all to know that I'm thinking about you and wishing you were here!

Elegant Bouquet and Flower Power!

Today's card is courtesy of Madonna!  Not only did she use the Big Shot to create texture, but she used ink to highlight that texture!  What a beauty!  The colors are Always Artichoke, and Cameo Coral (both of which are retiring!!).  In addition, she used the X-Large Flower punch and the BoHo Flower Punch for the focal points!  Great work!  Thanks for sharing!

With All My Heart

Can't get enough of my Big Shot Embossing Folders!  I used the Finial Press folder (Item #115963 - $7.95) and a piece of the Sweet Pea Designer Series Paper.  Using one of the SU! sanding blocks (Item #103301 - $3.50) I gently sanded over the embossed image and where ever the paper was raised, the sanding block removed the color; thus creating a "painted" look!

For the focal point of the card, I used the large flourish from the "With All My Heart" stamp set. (Item #118623 Clear Mount - $13.95 or Item #118134 Wood Mount - $17.95).  I used a technique called Rock -n Roll.  The ink colors are Apricot Appeal and Chocolate Chip.  I finished the focal point off with a Chocolate Chip 1/4" Epoxy Brad (Item #117272 - $3.25)!

Pocket Sillhouettes

Sometimes it is really nice to pull out an older set and get a new perspective!  In working on my samples for a class this week, I decided to revive my Pocket Sillhouettes - Item #111672 stamp set!  This set can be found on Page 97 of the 2009-2010 Idea Book and Catalog and it retails for $18.95.

You might be thinking that it looks to be more a card that would be used in the fall, due to the color scheme.  The colors are Close to Cocoa, Chocolate Chip, Pumpkin Pie, Old Olive, and Very Vanilla.  These colors were chosen because the group that I am doing the class for loves the Earth Elements color family.  All of the cards that they will be making will be done solely with the Earth Elements Family and will be accented with Very Vanilla!  In addition to the Pocket Sillhouettes set, I used the Well Scriped stamp set from the current mini catalog too!  Here is the first of the samples!

Vintage Vogue - Wedding Shower

You know that you are getting old when your friend from highschool, who was in your own wedding party has a daughter that is now getting married!  I can not believe how fast time flies!  I created this card for a special young lady who will be marrying her Army soldier in just two weeks! (Shhhh! I'm also created an album using My Digital Studio and will be posting some samples of that too!  Keep your eyes peeled!)

You might think these colors are a little "fall-ish" for an April wedding.... due to his impending deployment to Iraq, they moved their wedding date from October 15th to April 24th but didn't want to change their colors!

The wedding will be an Always Artichoke and Chocolate Chip affair and will be accented with Summer Sun.

Wishing them many years of happiness!.... follow your heart, it knows the way!

The card was created with the Vintage Vogue stamp set and accented with 5/8" Chocolate Chip grosgrain ribbon.

Circle Circus

Here is a great sample using SU! "Circle Circus" stamp set!  In addition to the great stamp set, it showcases the  heat embossing technique!  Thanks to one of my downline, Janice T!!

The colors are Bermuda Bay, Crushed Curry, Kraft, and Close to Cocoa.  If you look closely you will see "colored texture" on the crushed curry!  This was done by using the brayer and applying ink directly to a SU! texture plate, then placing it into the Big Shot machine and turn the handle!  It applies the texture and the ink all with a simple turn!

It is finished off with Crushed Curry polka-dot ribbon and the SU! Lace Border Punch.  In addition, all of the "Circles" are punched using several of the SU! punches! (Scallop Circle, 1-3/4" circle, 1-3/8" circle, 1-1/4" circle, and the 3/4" circle)

Contact me 24/7 to place your order for the supplies needed to make this and other great SU! projects!
