French Foliage

Oh My!  This is one of the most beautiful cards I have EVER received!  This card arrived in my mailbox a few days ago.  It came from Jill Olsen, who is demonstrator #5 with SU!!!!  She sent me this card becuase I was in her Top 30 for sales for the month of August!  This is the top 30 of almost 4,000 demonstrators!

This first picture is the full card.  The colors are Baja Breeze, Early Espresso, Cajun Craze, and Very Vanilla

This second view show you a close up of the emobossing and the unique material that she used to mat the verse.  She used a piece of our cork sheets found in our Big Idea Book and Catalog!

Thank you so much Jill for making me feel so special!

This beauty was created using the Stampin' Up! Big Shot machine by Sizzix!  Don't you love your Big Shot?! I know I do!   I used the #1 selling die - The Top Note Die - Item #113463.

Not to worry!  If you don't have a Big Shot Machine, I will be having a TREMENDOUS special during January, February, and March (My Big Shot Bonanza) and you can get your Big Shot and $65 worth of accessories, plus exclusive stamp sets and MORE!  The best part... you will have three months to pay for it!!!

This is an adorable and easy Christmas card to create with the big shot!  Contact me today and we can do this card at an in-home workshop for you and your friends!

Christmas Wreath - 1/2" Seam Binding

I must admit when I first saw the 1/2" seam binding in our 2010 Holiday Mini Catalog I thought to myself, "what am I going to do with that?"  I know however, that if I don't have it to show my customers, they won't buy it!  So, I purchased all three colors (Very Vanilla, Cherry Cobbler, and Always Artichoke).  I must tell you.... I LOVE IT!!

Here is an adorable Christmas card that I created using the seam binding for my focal point!

I used my 2-1/2" circle punch and then my 1-3/4" circle punch in the center of that to create the base for my wreath.  I covered the circle with adhesive and then took the Artichoke seam binding and stuck it to the adhesive!  I then used the Cherry Cobbler seam binding for the bow!  Of course EVERY card looks awesome when you dress it up with a Big Shot Textured Embossing Folder!  I used the Petals 'O Plenty for this one!  I finished it off with a greeting from the stamp set Word Play.

A Cute Christmas

Well I have to say I really didn't like this stamp set when I first saw it.  Had it not been for the great price that I got it for.....FREE!  I wouldn't have purchased it.  I decided I need to try another sample with it.  This card was inspired by my 5th level upline, Jill Olsen from Utah.

The base of the card was made using the Scallop Square Big Shot Die!  I used Real Red cardstock for the base.  The card 4" x 4", cut from Baja Breeze cardstock, was then mounted on top of the scallop square.  The front of the card was then decorated with our Candy Cane Christmas Specialty Designer Series Paper.  Can you see the fabulous red glitter?  It is "built-in" to the paper!  I used the ornament image from the Cute Christmas stamp set as the focal point.

Inside view - Greeting from Level 3 Hostess Set!

Simply Adorned - Jolly St. Nick - Snowman

I couldn't have been more thrilled when I was at Founder's Circle and I received the very special Simply Adorned necklace that was created by Shelli and her daughters Sara and Shalae.  Since last July's SU! convention when 100 lucky winners received a simply adorned charm from Shelli, I have been so wishing I would have won.  I wear the necklace proudly almost every day!  I have had several of my students say, "You must really like that necklace Mrs. Chenail.  You wear it alot." or "You're wearing that necklace again."

I decided that I needed to experiment for myself so I created this adorable necklace using the following products:

Item #121011 Black Crystal Bauble - $3.95
Item #121013 Pink Crystal Bauble - $3.95
Item # 118480 Chantilly 1/2" Lace - $6.95
Item # 116800- Simply Adorned 24" Chain - $10.95
Item #116799- SAdorned 1-1/2" x 2" Charm - $21.95
Item #121321 - Jolly Old Saint Nick Stamp Set - $17.95
Item #120995 - Silver Glass Glitter - $3.95
Item #120994 Silver Tinsel Trim - $7.95 and Item #120993 Clear Tinsel Trim - $7.95

Here are a few more shots of this adorable necklace!  I can't wait to wear it and show it off!  The best thing is I can even wear it after Christmas!  Because it is a snowman, I can wear him all winter!!!

Happy Fall - Design-a-House

Well, I have finished my "Fall" house!  A few weeks ago I shared my Halloween house and now I am ready to showcase Fall!

I used the Design-A-House kit from the Holiday Mini Catalog - Page 37- Item #120911 - $5.95 each. These are the most adorable decorations from Stampin' Up! in quite some time!  I just put in another order to get several more!  I'm working on a Christmas house and then a Winter Wonderland house!  Stay tuned for those!

I used the Autumn Spice Designer Series Paper to cover the house with.  I used the Brown Waffle Paper for the roof and chimney.  I wanted it to have a shingled appearance.  I think it looks perfect!

The wreath on the front door was made using the flower bitty punch from the 3-piece mini punch set!  I created the Happy Fall banner using the large star punch and cutting each of the star corners off to form the pennants!

I LOVE the way it turned out!  Have you created a house?  Would you share it with me please!!!?

UDI Color Challenge #6 - Inspired By Nature

It is Tuesday, and time for another UDI color team challenge!  Here was our challenge for this week:

The color palette includes Concord Crush, Rose Red, Old Olive, Pumpkin Pie, and Daffodil Delight!  When I first started creating my card for this week's challenge, I became really frustrated.  I thought, "too many colors".  I then put away the papers and took out the inks and pursued it from that angle.  I like what I came up with this week MUCH better than last weeks!

Here it is:

I used the the following tools:
  • Brayer
  • Butterfly Punch
  • Butterfly Prints stamp set #120738
  • Inspired by Nature stamp set
  • Vanilla cardstock
  • Concord Crush cardstock
  • Daffodil Delight Cardstock
  • Concord Crush Ribbon
  • All 5 Color Challenge colors in Ink!

Of course I have a card for you too!

Today's card was created by Karen Sousa.  Karen is a member of my downline and she participated in my
demonstrator swap!  I don't know how many of you realize the amount of work in this card!

First Karen punched 1-1/4" squares from the Deck the Halls DSP.  She then glued them onto a sheet of paper and then ran it through the Big Shot machine using the Top Note Die.  This gave it the patchwork affect.  She then used the coordinating Deck the Halls fabric, exclusively from Stampin' Up!, to create the floral embellishment on the left side of the top note.  The card was finished off with an antique brad and our Deck the Halls buttons!  Love this card!

Thanks Karen! ..... and Happy Birthday to you!

Ornament Punch Acorn

Today I am sharing a sample from my good friend France Martin.  Frenchie is a fellow demonstrator and we got to be great friends during Founder's Circle this year.  She is so much fun to be with and her broken English accent is to die for!

She created this card using the ornament punch and the stamp set called Day of Gratitude.  The stamp set can be found in the Holiday Mini Catalog on pages 12-13.  The top of the acorn was done using the Large Oval punch, and the smile was done using the Small Oval Punch.

Don't you just love it?!!!!
