U.D.I. Color Challenge #12

Another Tuesday and another UDI Color challenge!  I really thought that this week was going to be easy.  I really liked the color challenge photo and I thought it would inspire me a lot!  Not so sure that I like what I came up with however!  Please let me know what you think!

 This week's colors were:
  • Certainly Celery
  • Concord Crush
  • So Saffron
  • Basic Gray

Here is my creation.

I used the hostess set called Fast & Fabulous.  The card itself is Basic Gray. I added a strip of Concord Crush and So Saffron.  Using Very Vanilla I used the Top Note Big Shot Die and stamped the images using So Saffron, Concord Crush, and Certainly Celery inks.

I finished it off using the Concord Crush stitched ribbon and the Modern Label Punch for the greeting!

New Stamp Studio Complete!!! / Last day of Online Spectacular & 50% Off Demonstrator Opportunity!

Well, the new stampin studio is finally complete!  I can not tell you how much I LOVE it!  and how much I LOVE my husband for all of the time and creative talent he contributed to helping me get it done!

This counter top and white cabinets were transported from my old space to the new.  The rack holding my punches was designed and built by my awesome husband using good from Home Depot and Ikea!  (If you haven't been to IKEA, you really need to make the trip.)

The table and chairs were an incredible find on Craig's List!!!  The table is so heavy and durable it is going to make a GREAT stamping space!

Over the closet door is a cable assembly that is actually a curtain rod from IKEA!  I found these little metal clips there too!  I thought what a perfect way to display my favorite creations or swaps!

My giant paper rack fits perfectly inside the closet and best of all I can close the door and hide any type of mess!  lol

There was even enough room to set up a little "office space"!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Thanksgiving is my absolute favorite holiday.  It is a day that doesn't have to be commericalized, I get to visit with my husband's family.  We have great food, wine, and a day full of family reminiscing, card games and even some pictionary!

Those of you that don't know me that well probably don't know that I no longer have any parents, grandparents, aunts or uncles.  It is because of my lack of "blood" relatives that I really am thankful for the extremely special relationships that I have made through my Stampin' Up! business.  You all mean more to me than you even realize!  I thank God for you each and every day!  I want to take this time to wish ALL of you a very Happy Thanksgiving!  Enjoy the family and friends that you have; be thankful that you have them to surround you!  Thank you for your loyalty and for sharing your love of stamping with me!

Autumn Spice DSP

At my last downline meeting we had an in-depth conversation about how beautiful Stampin' Up!'s Designer Series Paper is.  This discussion let to many of my downline saying that it is so beautiful that they just can't bear to use it!  I was like, "are you kiddin me?"!

I issued a challenge! Everyone must use DSP in their next swap!  Well girls...how's this one?!!!  Not only was DSP used but it is really the focal point of this card!  LOVE IT!

I sincerely apologize becuase I want to give credit to the creator of this card but I couldn't remember whose it was.  So sorry!

So I challenge each of you to use your fabulous DSP and share your creations with me!!!

Big Shot Pin

Before you get your daily dose of inspiration, I just want to remind everyone that I am set up at the Plainfield Town Hall today from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm selling retired Stampin' Up! goods!!!!  Come visit me!!

Today's post is a beautiful pin that I made using the Big Shot and the Circles #2 Die.

The pin is made from plain nylon fabric that is a lite shade of pink (Pink Pirouette-ish), the Bigz Die called Circles #2, a small piece of toule, and an antique brad from the Stampin' Up! Idea Book & Catalog.

After cutting the circles from the fabric, I used a candle flame and rotated the edge of each circle around the flame until the fabric started to gather and melt (the nylon melts).  Don't worry, if the fabric catches fire, blow it out.  It adds character to the pin!
After getting all of the layers melted, I nestled them one inside of each other with the largest on the bottom and smallest on the top.  They are adhered together with a hot glue gun.  The antique brad is placed through the center of the entire piece.

Once that is complete you need to do the back.  See 2nd photo for how the back looks!

Pillow Box Big Shot Die

Today's sample is brought to you courtesy of Ashley L., one of my downline from Thompson, CT.  She created this adorable little treat using the SU! Big Shot die called Pillow Box.

The patterned paper is that of Autumn Spice.  It can be found in the Holiday Mini catalog.  If you haven't gotten a chance to see this paper first hand, you are missing alot!  This is a specialty paper and is thick like cardstock and is also textured!  It is perfect for a creation like this.

The second photo shows you the special treat that Ashley placed inside of the Pillow Box!  Thank you so much for sharing this with me!

Jolly St. Nick Snowman

I just can't get enough of this snowman!  He is one of the images from the Jolly Old St. Nick stamp set found in the Holiday Mini Catalog!  Those of you that attended the stamp camp on Saturday, November 13th will love an additional sample!
I received this card from Janet Wakeland, who is on the Advisory Board this year!  She is a very talented stamper!

The card itself is made from Night of Navy Cardstock and then run through the Big Shot machine using the Northern Flurries embossing folder.  The focal point is backed with a piece of Whisper White cardstock punches with the 2-1/2" circle punch found in the Holiday Mini Catalog.  Another added layer was done with Night of Navy DSP paper and punched with the XL - Decorative Label Punch, also in the Holiday Mini.  "Frosty's" scarf is adorned with the silver tinsel! Also used is the Cherry Cobbler seam binding!

......... Until tomrorrow!

Candy Cane Holiday

Just love this card!  I received it in the mail this past week from Jill O from St. George, UT.  I am in Jill's 5th level of SU! demonstrators.  (I am one of more than 3,000 demonstrators in her downline!)  I was in the Top 30 of her downline for sales during the month of October so she sent me this beautiful card!  Scroll to the bottom and I will explain how she did the floral piece on the card!  It is actually a clip/pin that can be removed and used in your hair or on your clothes!

She used the BigShot Multipurpose adhesive sheets that are in the HOliday Mini catalog on a Real Red piece of carstock and then punched it out with the scallop circle punch.  She then used the Tasteful Trim die from the mini catalog to cut out the fabric.

You start on the outside of teh scallop and go towards thye inside with the fabric, gathering it as you go.  The button is adhered with the Mono Liquid Glue.  A 1-1/4" circle punched from real red cardstock is adhered using mono liquid glue and a clip!
