MDS Monday - Happy Birthday

Hello Stamp-Patty follwers!  Welcome to another edition of MDS (My Digital Studio) Monday!  Today's MDS challenge was to create a birthday card.  This was an easy one!

I used the Square card template and chose Cherry Cobbler for the cardstock color.  I love the look of Pink Pirouette with cherry cobbler so that is my accent color.  I used the Curly Label punch download as well as the Party Hearty stamp brush set.  I couldn't resist adding the pearls to really dress it up!

................ Until tomorrow!

Stylish Blogger Award!! ME????!!

Good Morning Stamp-Patty's!

I was speechless to find a comment on my blog from Susan Byington saying that she had bestowed upon me the Stylish Blogger Award!  I never got involved in blogging to get any type of award!  I do it for you my customers and stamping friends!  I can not believe that someone, that I have never met, would recognize me in such a beautiful way!  Susan, I sincerely thank you for this and am so very surprised and honored that you enjoy my blog.  You can visit her blog to see her inspiring creations at

When you receive this award you are to pay it forward and follow these rules:

1) thank the person who gave this award to you and link it back to their blog (see above link)
2) share 8 things about yourself
3) pass this award to 8 other individuals that you have recently discovered
4) leave a comment so that they can pass along the recognition!

Well, here goes . . .Eight things about me that you may not know:

1 - In addition to my Stampin' Up! business, I am a full-time 8th grade Mathematics teacher.  Teaching is a second career for me; I have been teaching for 11 years.

2 - I have been a Stampin' Up! demonstrator for almost 6 years.  I have a total downline of 50 and I have been blessed to have been in the Top 100 Demonstrators for the last two years.  This has entitled me to the incredible opportunity of attending SU!'s prestigious Founder's Circle Retreat twice!  I also have earned two incentive trips with SU!  My second one will be taken in May when my husband and I will be crusing Alaska!
3 - I have been married to my high school sweetheart, Paul, for almost 24 years!  We dated for 6 years before we got married!

4 - We have one child, a daughter - Katelyn, who is in her 4th year of college.  She is a dance major at Dean College in MA.

5 - When I am not stamping, I am riding my 2005 Harley Davidson Soft-Tailed Deluxe!  I will ride it anywhere.  I have had this bike almost two years and have put 11,000+ miles on it!

6 - I LOVE flip-flops!  Despite the snow here in the NE part of the US, I wear them all year round!

7 - I change my hair color every 5 weeks.  I like change and variety!  lol

8 - In my next life I want to be either a bartender or a waitress.

Now, to offer this lovely award to 8 others. Oh, there are so many wonderful blogs out there, and many of my choices had already received the award, but I have selected the following:

I have awarded these based on the following: They must have posted recently, I find their blog/work creative, inspirational, and classy, and they have not received this award in the past. (Or at least I didn't see it posted on their blogs) Most importantly, they make me smile! Stop on by these lovely ladies' sites and have a look around. Leave them a comment while you're there. We demos just love that! :) Thanks again for the award, Susan. I am so honored!

Can't leave you without your daily dose of inspiration!

Today's card is the work of Tammy Summiel from CT.  She is a new demonstrator in my downline and she has been creating some fabulous stuff!

She created this for our downline swap recently.  I love the Pretty in Pink and Concord Crush combination!

Thanks Tammy for all that you do!  Thanks for coming into my life!  I know that you were sent to me for a reason!

.......... Until tomorrow!

Thoughts & Prayers

Today's card is the creation of Brenda Despathy; one of my 2nd level downline members!  She has only been a demonstrator since the end of November!  I am so proud of all she has done so far!

Brenda created this card for our recent downline swap.  She has NEVER participated in a swap before and she was so nervous that she wouldn't make the grade!  I think she did a fabulous job!!!

The stamp set is called Thoughts and Prayers.  The card itself is made from Marina Mist cardstock.  The layers are Old Olive, Natural Ivory, and Chocolate Chip.  She of course added some DSP (our challenge) and used three punches; the Scallop border, Scallop Oval, and Large Oval!

Punch Bunch Graduation

It's never to early to start thinking about graduations I guess!  They will be here before you know it!  I had a workshop recently and the hostess asked for a graduation card as she and alot of her friends have children that are going to be graduating.  I thought... No Problem!....... Until I looked in our giant IB&C and didn't see a single graduation set!  Really?!!!!  So I went to work and created one of my own using the Sale-A-Bration stamp set called Punch Bunch.   Thanks again to Chrysty for sharing her knowledge of how to make the medallion for the focal point!

Here is the side and inside view!

U.D.I. - Color Challenge #24

Hard to believe that I am 24 weeks into this color challenge team!!!  I LOVE this!  It really makes me think outside the box and allows me to create items that otherwise I would not do!

This week we are experimenting with:

  • So Saffron
  • Blushing Bride
  • Cherry Cobbler
  • Always Artichoke

This color combo was REALLY hard to work with.  I really liked the Saffron, Blushing Bride, and Artichoke; however, when I added the Cherry Cobbler I really didn't like it.  I had to rethink it many times!  Ultimately, am very pleased with what I came up with!

I thought I would share a close-up of the adorable little girl!  I used our marvelous markers to color directly on the stamp!  (This is how I got the Cherry Cobbler in the project!)

................Until tommorrow!

MDS Monday #2 - President's Day

Hello my friends!  Today is Monday and time for another My Digital Studio Project.  In case you are just joining me, I am part of a team of designers and each week we are given a specific challenge and we must create the project using My Digital Studio from Stampin' Up!

This week, in honor of President's Day, we had to use Red, White, and Blue!  Here is my creation!

After this last week's worth of great weather, I couldn't help but be inspired by the motorcycle stamp now available for download for MDS!!!  I can't wait to get out there and start riding again!!!  Happy Monday!

Easter Blossoms

Hello there friends!

I know that postings this week have been sparse!  I am sorry about that!  This week was my first full week of school since Christmas!  I have been exhausted!  For those of you that don't know, in addition to my full-time Stampin' Up! gig, I am a full-time, 8th grade mathematics teacher!  Because of all of the crazy weather patterns, we have missed one or more days per week of school since Christmas!  As a result of all of our lost days, we now lost our February vacation which was to start yesterday (Saturday) and go through this next week and we have lost 1/2 of our April vacation!  Because of my lost vacation, I have been scrambling trying to get everything in order for my upcoming workshops!  I am sorry for neglecting you and will be getting back on track!

Last week I had my downline meeting and we had a great time!  I had 13 of my Stamp-Patty's there and everyone had something great to share!  That's what I love the most!  I love having us all in the same room, sharing our passion for the same things....Stamping!!!  Over the next week or so, I will be sharing the cards created for our downline swap!  Our theme for this swap was Designer Series Paper!  This theme arose because at our last downline meeting we had a long discussion about buying the DSP and then not using it.  In particular, we have a couple of members of our group that think the SU! DSP is way too pretty to cut up!   lol   So, not only did they have to open the package, they actually had to use it!  What beautiful creations they came up with!!!  So that my Alzheimer's didn't take over, I got out a sticky note pad and put everyone's name on their cards so that I could give the right person credit!  Again, I have to apologize to my girl Karen Sousa because I have posted two of her creations recently and gave credit to someone else!  I love you Karen!!!  Sorry :(

Today I am sharing the work of  Megan Sajkowicz. Meg's DSP of choice is the Springtime Vintage paper.  Her card base is Not Quite Navy;
The top note is done using the Big Shot
and the Top Note die on Very Vanilla paper.  Her scallops are done using the 2-3/8" Scallop Circle with Not Quite Navy, the standard scallop circle punch and Rose Red paper and then she used some circle punches to create the greeting! The final touch is some Always Artichoke Seam Binding!

The stamp set is called Easter Blossoms and can be found in the Ocassions Mini Catalog!

Happy Valentines Day!

Hey there my faithful followers!  Today is Monday, Febrary 14, 2011 and it is the start of something new!  I am now part of a My Digital Studio Design Team called "MDS Monday"!  I will be showing you samples every Monday that are created with My Digital Studio!  I know many of you will be excited about this because you now own the software and are looking for some inspiration in this area!

Today being Valentine's day, our challenge for today was to create a Valentine Card!  Here is my submission!

In additoin to the MDS card, I wanted to give you your normal dose of inspiration too!

If you don't have a Big Shot, I hope that with all of the projects that I have shown you you will get one soon!  It is NOT too late to get in on my Big Shot Bonanza!  You can make a payment in Feb., March, and April and still get all of the FREE stuff to go with it!!!  Contact me TODAY!!

This card was inspired by Dawn Bates.  She came to the shoebox swap and had the Real Red card, the Whisper White layer was run through the Big Shot using the Petals 'O Plenty embossing folder, and the hearts were created using the Scalloped Heart Embosslit (also for the Big Shot)!  Shen I got home, I couldn't resist creating one of my "fork bows" (See the Video HERE) using the Real Red Satin Ribbon!  I used dimensionals to raise the center heart.

Enjoy your day of "LOVE"!  Make it a great one!   .............. Until tomorrow!

Pocket Silhouettes

Hello again!

Today's card is a clean, and simple one! It was created by Denise Attella!  I had the priviledge of making this card at a shoebox swap last Sunday!  Yup another one from my play date!

The card is whisper white and it is accented with a strip of Not Quite Navy (which was run through the Polka-Dot embossing folder - using the Big Shot) and a strip of basic black.  I added the Organza Ribbon....again just because I like texture!  The stamp set that was used is called Pocket Silhouettes and it can be found on Page 111 of the Big Idea Book & Catalog!   Thanks for sharing this with me Denise!!

Inspired By Nature

Morning Stamping Friends!

Here is the first of several cards that I had the pleasure of making at a recent shoebox swap with some customers!  I had so much fun!  I'm hoping that this card will help us all to think about spring! I don't know about you but I am truly SICK of winter!!

This card was created by Chris Harpin.  We used the Inspired By Nature Stamp set and three Marvelous Markers -- More Mustard, Old Olive, Chocolate Chip.  I added the ribbon just because I like to have some additional texture!

Engraved Greetings / My Digital Studio - Two Posts Today!!!

Good Morning!!!

When I placed my first order that qualified for a Sale-A-Bration item, I chose the stamp set called Engraved Greetings.  It can be found on Page 182 of the big Idea Book & Catalog.  This is a two-piece set that includes the Thank You image you see here as well as one that says Happy Birthday.

Both images screem masculinity to me and lord knows I never have enough manly cards!  I don't know about you but I think this new Tulip Embossing Folder is fabulous!  It allows you to create an awesome card so quickly and one with so much style!  The colors are Very Vanilla and Basic Black.  The Black piece in the center is 3" x 4-1/4" and the Very Vanilla center is 2-1/4" x 3-1/4" and it is raised using dimensionals!

Thanks for following my blog!  I truly appreciate your feedback and knowing that you look forward to it each day!  It makes the time that I spend on it so worth it!

Hey friends!   I know that many of you have purchased My Digital Studio recently and you may not know about all of the fabulous downloads that are now available for your software!  These downloads are very inexpensive, can be purchased through my website and downloaded to your computer in minutes!  Once you buy them, you own them!  They will automatically load into your MDS program and be ready for you to use immediately!

Stampin' UP! has committed to releasing new downloads every Tuesday!  So be sure to check out the website every Tuesday to see what is new!  In addition, for the first time ever, SU! has released a MDS Artwork book and checklist so that you can keep track of what you have already and see what you would like!  This contains all of the artwork from the release of the software 1-1/2 years ago until Jan 1, 2011 I believe.

Here is the catalog!  Feel free to dowload it and save it to your computer or print it so that you will know what you have and what you want!

Anyone interested in a quarterly My Digital Studio class?  This would be a FREE class for anyone that has purchased their software through me!  You would come to my house with your laptop and the evening would be dedicated to working strictly on My digital Studio!  Let me know!

Friendship Never Fades

Hello stamping friends!

Today's card is one that I created for a workshop I did this past Sunday!  I new the group that was assembling was a group of friends that make the time to stamp together EVERY month!  They do their stamping event "shoebox" style.  They each plan/design a card and bring all the supplies for each of their friends to make one!  I LOVE this idea!!  Are there any other groups doing this?  The real joy for me was not only did I get invited to do a workshop for the hostess, Christine, I also got invited to stay for the stamping afterward!  Yahoooooo!  I don't get to stamp for fun nearly enough!  Tomorrow I will share the card that I created for their shoebox fun!

This card has a base of Pear Pizzazz and showcases the Greenhouse Gala Designer Series Paper.  I used the scallop edge border punch, whisper white satin ribbon, and some dazzling diamonds to finish it off!

Happy Tuesday everyone!  It is color challenge Tuesday.  Our colors for this week are:
  • Chocolate Chip
  • More Mustard
  • Tangerine Tango
  • Very Vanilla

Here is my card for the challenge!

I absolutely love the layout that I created; but I wasn't crazy about the color combination so I decided to do the card again using a slightly different color combo!

This is what I came up with the second time!

This one contains:
  • Very Vanilla
  • Cherry Cobbler
  • Red Glimmer Paper
  • Chocolate Chip
  • Cherry Cobbler Seam Binding

Here is a close-up of the cupcake!  Just can't get enough of that cupcake punch!  Look at the glimmering cherry on top!  Doesn't it make you hungry?!

Anyone interested in a cupcake card class?  I would love to do one!  I will even host it!  Comment or send me an email if you are interested!

Thanks for Caring

Those of you that know me well, know that I do not like to made sympathy cards.  However, in the last couple of weeks I have had many requests to create some.

I got the idea for this card in a couple of different ways.  #1 - you may recall my post from a few weeks ago where I created a bunch of thank you notes using the Tulip embossing folder and a monochromatic color scheme; and #2 I got a card during my swaps a Leadership using the stamp set: Thanks For Caring.

This card is made with Very Vanilla and stamped with Black Staz-On ink.  I also used the Tulip Embossing Folder for the Big Shot, wide striped grosgrain ribbon (black), and you can't tell from this photo but I also used two of the mini pearls and lots of dimensionals!

I am hoping you won't need to send one of these...but just in case.

.................. Until tomorrow!
