Fun Flowers with the Bigz Large Die for the Big Shot!

Today I am going to showcase a project made with the Fun Flowers Bigz Large Die that is found in the Stampin' Up! Occassions Mini catalog on Page 39.  This die is definitely one for your collection!  The uses are endless!  You can create cloth flowers to make headbands, broaches, or book marks.  I have created lots of flower embellishments for scrapbook pages and today I am featuring the flower on a greeting card!

This view shows you the dimension that can be acheived
using these flowers!

The card itself is made using whisper white cardstock.  The front layers are river rock, not quite navy, and a brand new DSP that will be in the next Idea Book & Catalog in July!  This DSP is a special promotion for the month of April.  (See yesterday's post for details)  In addition to the DSP, I used the promotional stamp set called Four Frames to create the sentiment.  This stamp set is also on special during April and will then not be available until July!

Not only did I use my Big Shot for cutting the flowers but I also used it to emboss them!  What a great additional touch!

............... Until tomorrow!

Katie Bug Creates!!!

Well, what a wonderful treat for you all today!!!  While I was away watching a Roller Derby Bout on Sunday, my incredible daughter Katelyn sent me a message!  She said: "Mom, wait till you see what I made!"  I was thinking she finally learned how to cook something!  She is 21 after all and should be able to cook up something!

When I arrived home, she had already driven back to college but she left me a note and her "made" creation!  Here is what I found....

She found a picture somewhere and thought the bugs were the cutest ever so she made her way into my stamp room and punched away.  She told me today, "you didn't have everything I needed so I did the best I could!"  Can you believe that?!!!  I think they are awesome!!  I love her note!

So, I will be busy making these beautiful works of art into two birthday cards for her to give her friends at college!

MDS Monday - Happy Spring

Hello All!  Happy Spring!!!  .....finally!  I don't know how you all celebrated the start of Spring but I had the pleasure of spending the day with 20 of my downline members at the SU! Regional in Hartford, CT!

We had an awesome day of techniques, stamping, business tips and of course, swapping!  Here we all are together!  I created this page using MDS!

Can you guess the official color of the Stamp-Patty's????

I had the honor and pleasure of presenting on stage during the Regional!  I submitted an original idea to Stampin' Up! and they liked it...so I was asked to present it!!

Here I am on stage with camera man Tom!  What an awesome time.  When I arrived at the Convention Center early in the am, we were given instruction that we were actually presenting to Tom instead of the crowd of 500+.  I thought to myself, "ya, ok".

Once I got going, I really did present to Tom.  The lighting was so bright that I couldn't really see anyone in the audience anyway; but oh could I hear them!  I want to say a HUGE THANK YOU to all of my girls!  You are some of the many reasons that I do what I do and one of the main reasons that  I LOVE WHAT I DO!!

Here are the samples that I shared on stage!

I can't tell you what an honor it is to see my designs on a SU! display board!  Holy Moly!

Two Step Owl Punch - hOWLy moly!!

Isn't this amazing!!!  I got this card while at Leadership conference and hesitated posting it for you because first, I don't know who created it and second because it is so incredible I can't even explain how it was done!!!  If anyone has any info on this card, PLEASE let me know so I can share details!

I know for sure that it uses the Owl Punch, 1-3/4" Circle Punch, the Bird Punch and the mini Heart Punch!  I believe the pieces were cut out of sticky paper and then stuck to the cardstock and the glitter was applied to the sticky paper.  The funny thing is when you touch it it is completely flat, there is not one layer higher than another!  Crazy awesome!

I am away at SU! Regional and will have some beautiful stuff to share with you next week.  As always I will have MDS Monday and Color challenge Tuesday so hopefully I will have my big stage debut (I am presenting at the Regional!) video for you on Wednesday!  Wish me luck!!!

....... Until tomorrow!

Fun Flowers Bigz Die

You all know how much I love my Big Shot!  If you don't have one...you don't know what you're missing!  It is a MUST have for every stamper!

This card was created during a shoebox swap while I was at Leadership.  I am sorry to say that I don't know who the original creator is.   I did these recently because I just love the Fun Flowers die that is in our mini catalog!

You can mix and match colors and I can't tell you how awesome the fabric covered Sew Suite buttons are!  They really finish off the design.  There are two embossing folders also used for the backgrounds.  The one on the top is Petals 'O Plenty and the bottom one is the perfect polka dots!

Circle Circus

Today I a sharing the card that I created for my shoebox swap on Friday night!  I have partnered with Dawn Rapsas and Terry Mungeon to host a shoebox swap at the Residence Inn in Hartford, CT as part of our Stampin' Up! Regional Conference!

This is going to be so much fun!  40 of us stampin in our jammies!  Don't worry, I will share photos!!

This card was created using Whisper White, Basic Black and accented with Real Red.  The stamp sets are Circle Circus and A Word For You.

To the left you can see a close-up of the punched "circle" and the greeting. I couldn't resist the addition of one of our beautiful rhinestones!

I will have LOTS of beautiful designs to show you in the next few weeks!  Stay tuned!

U.D.I. Color Challenge #27

Happy Tuesday!  Today is Color Challenge Day!  Our palette for this week includes:
  • Baja Breeze
  • Always Artichoke
  • Very Vanilla
  • Basic Grey or Brushed Silver

My creation is pictured below!

I chose to use the stamp set - Clearly For You.  I received this set for FREE when I attended Leadership in January.  I loved working with these colors!  I chose to use the Basic Gray as opposed to the brushed sliver; however, I couldn't resist adding some shimmer to my project!  I used three of the gilmmer brads and of course one of my fork bows.  The bow was made with the Always Artichoke seam binding.

What are you going to create with these colors?  Send me your designs and I will post them!

MDS Monday - St. Patrick's Day

Hey Stamp-Patty follwers!  Welcome to another edition of MDS Monday!  Today's challenge is to create something for St. Patrick's Day.  I decided that instead of doing a card today, I would create a scrapbook page using MDS.  My friend AnnMarie would have an Annual St. Patrick's Day party.  My scrapbook page is a showcase of last year's event!  Enjoy!

All of us dressed in green (most in their Boston Red Sox - green edition), festive shamrock shaped rueben sandwiches, and lots of jello shots!

Friendly Words

Howdy Friends!

Today's share is the final of my three club projects for March.  It is entitled, "Friends".

I chose the color combination thanks to my Color Coach!  They are Pink Pirouette, Baja Breeze, Early Espresso, and Whisper White.

The background of the card is textured using the Vintage Wallpaper embossing folder.

I used the Scallop Trim Border punch on the Baja strips and adhered them on either side of the whisper white cardstock.  The focal point was created using the jumbo wheel called, Friendly Words.

The final touch was made using the Whisper White Organza ribbon!
