MDS Monday - CONTEST!!!!

Happy Halloween everyone!!!  I have something a little special for you this week!  I am so excited I can hardly contain myself!  As you may recall, last week I held my first MDS class.  I thought it went very well and I received lots of positive feedback from the gals that attended.  I decided (being a teacher and all) that I had to assign homework!  It was the only way I could think of to make them go home and play with MDS and try out some of what they learned!  Their assignment was to make a Halloween card and email it to me!  So for my MDS Monday post this week, I am sharing a scrapbook page that I made AND I am sharing the projects of my MDS students!!!

Elana, Katelyn (my daughter), Kara, Rae Ann, Alex, and ??
My scrapbook page was created using a photo that my daughter sent me.  She is a full-time student, majoring in Dance, at Dean College in Massachusetts.  This past Friday they had their annual Halloween dance.  She is pictured here (2nd from the left) in the bright yellow teeny tiny shorts!  She tells me that she is dressed up as Kimmy Gibbler from the TV show "Saved By The Bell".

Anyway, now to share the projects of my students!  I thought because they worked so hard on these that we should have a CONTEST!!!  I need all of YOU to help me!!  I am posting each of the projects with a number under it.  I need all of you to cast votes!  How do you do that??  You must visit my blog:  www.stamppattys.com  and click on comment under this blog post.  Everyone that casts a vote in this manner it will be counted!  You can not email me your vote - you must post the vote under comments on the blog.  If you are not sure how to do that, let me show you a picture that shows you what I mean:

Under the actual blog post is my signature and under that is a link that will show the number of comments.  It will start a 0 of course!  Click there and cast your vote.  Make sure you look at all of them before you vote!  Vote by card #!  I will collect votes until Thursday night, November 3rd.  I will announce the winner on Friday the 4th!!!

Ok, without further adieu, here they are:

Crisp Fall Air...................

With the true onset of Fall and that cool crispness in the air, I couldn't help but share this card with you all.

It was created by a member of my downline, Judy for our recent demo group swap.  I LOVE the color combination on this card!  I must say that I was not able to capture the sharp colors in this photo!  (So sorry)

Colors include: Pumpkin Pie, Old Olive, Rich Razzleberry, More Mustard, and Whisper White.  The Medallion focal point was created using the new pennant die!  It is like a giant scalloped circle or doily.  The leaf in the center is finished off with some dazzling diamonds!  Love it!  The stamp set, in case you haven't already figured that out, is Gently Falling.  Time is running out on being able to purchase this set! Be sure you get all of the goodies you want from the best Holiday Mini ever...before they are gone!

.............. Until tomorrow!

My Digital Studio - Maiden Voyage a Success!

Well, I finally took the plunge and held my first MDS class in my studio!  I had those that registered for the class bring their laptop computers with their loaded software to class so that they could get hands-on practice!  I just had to get some photographs!

We were able to talk about the benefits of being a member of www.mydigitalstudio.net as well as the release of brand new digital downloads EVERY Tuesday!  Did you know that SU! releases new downloads every Tuesday?  Make sure you visit mydigitalstudio.net to view the new downloads each week.  If you see something you like, you can purchase it through my online store!  The best part....no shipping and handling charges and no waiting for your goods!  Once you purchase them, you can download them immediately!!!

At the end of our class, we scheduled our next session and everyone has a homework assignment!  Each student must create a Halloween card using MDS and email it to me by Sunday evening so that I can post them all on the blog on Monday!  So far one student, Sharon G., has already submitted her homework!!  Nothing like a little pressure, huh girls?!!

If you are interested in My Digital Studio classes, please contact me!  I will be happy to schedule another starter group!!

......Until tomorrow!

UDI Color Challenge #59 -

Welcome back to another Color Challenge Tuesday!  This week our colors are:

  • Daffodil Delight
  • Pumpkin Pie
  • Basic Black
  • Whisper White

I was so inspired by the adorable little baby in this photo that I just had to create a card that reminded me of him!  Using the pre-cut and pre-scored note cards that are available in the Stampin' Up! idea book & catalog, I created this VERY simple gift card.  I used the stamp set called Easy Events!

MDS Monday - Designer Series Paper

One of the things I love most about MDS is that the SU! products NEVER retire!  The MDS challenge this week is to use at least two designer series papers in our projects.  The DSP that I chose is from the Springtime Vintage collection that was available last Spring.

Although we can't but this paper any longer, I can still use it over and over again in My Digital Studio!  Did you also know that I could create a "card" out of the DSP and print it out and use it just as I would the actual paper?  YUP! that's right!

The scrapbook page that I created is one of many that I am working on from my incredible Founder's Circle trip last month.  When you arrive at the hotel you receive your name badge and a getting to know you game.  You have to find the other gals that will be on your team for the rest of the FC retreat.  Our group was called the White Gloves.  The group consisted of:  Patty Bennett, Cindy Baughman, Kristen Kortonick, Judy Garza, Linda Heller, Janet Wakeland and little 'ol me!  What an awesome time!!!!  Can't wait to see them all again in January!!!

Leaves of a Tree

Today's project is one that I received from our downline swap.  It was created by Megan S!  It utilizes the single stamp called, "Leaves of a Tree".  This stamp is found in the Holiday Mini Catalog and is absolutely adorable and VERY versatile!

This project using Chocolate Chip, More Mustard, Pool Party, and Spice Cake DSP!  Gotta love that Spice Cake DSP- make sure you get yours before it retires in early January!!!

Thanks for sharing Meg!

Gently Falling in Neutral Tones

I must say, I love the look of this project!  It is done completely in Neutral tones - Sahara Sand, Early Espresso, and Whisper White and it is gorgeous!!

Using the Big Shot machine, a small strip of Sahara Sand was textured to add just the right amount of "pop"!

I received this card as part of my downline swap this month and I apologize because I am not sure which member of my downline did it!  ???  Was it Sharon???  Who ever it was, please post a message here on the blog so that you can get the credit you deserve!!

................. Until tomorrow!!

Stamping Kitty - aka Sully

Well, on Monday evening I had my 3rd Monday of the month group over for their monthly stamping night.  Usually it is Scooby-Doo that joins us in the studio; as she likes to hang with us girls so that she can lie on our feet and lick our legs.  I guess that Sully has become rather jealous or heard that it is a really good time so he decided that he would join us this month.  His favorite gal was my friend and customer, Tammy.  Tammy, being a kitty cat lover, paid a lot of attention to Sully and because she did -- he just wanted to stay.  No matter what we tried, he turned up like a bad penny!  LOL

So it appears that Scooby now has some competition in the Stampin' Studio!  LOL

Below is a card that I created for my recent downline meeting swap!  I just love this Holiday stamp set!  It can be found in the full Idea Book & Catalog.  It is called, "Snow Much Fun"!

The colors I chose are Baja Breeze, Early Espresso, and Whisper White.  I added a touch of Dazzling Diamonds to give him some pizzazz!  We all know that diamonds make EVERYTHING beautifu.!!!

Quite the combo, eh?!!!  I wasn't sure that I could put these together and make something worth looking at.  I did manage to do it and it really is not so bad!

Sail Away

In 1492, Christopher Columbus sailed the ocean blue......did I get that right?

I know we are a few days passed Columbus Day but I couldn't resist sharing this one with you!!

This is a great "manly" card and we all know this is one area that we struggle with.  It is easy to make something that is "pretty" but guys don't want "pretty".

This project uses Marina Mist, Cherry Cobbler, and Whisper White.  The paper and the stamp set are both retired now but I know that many of you have them both!  If you don't the layout will certainly be of help to you in creating something for that special man in your life!

Easy Events

Here is a great idea for you using the pre-cut/pre-scored note cards from the Stampin' Up! Idea Book & Catalog.  These cards are one of the BEST deals in the entire catalog.  You get 20 cut/scored cards and 20 envelopes for $5.95!!  All I did for this project was seal the envelope, turn it long ways and cut 1" off of it.  Using the extra wide oval punch, I made a cut-out in the envelope.
Using the stamp set, "Easy Events" (found in the Idea Book & Catalog on page 57) I stamped the cupcake on the card.  I used a blender pen and the following ink colors:  Pool Party, Lucky Limeade, Melon Mambo, Daffodil Delight, and Pumpkin Pie to color the cupcake.  (Be sure to stamp your cupcake using Staz-On ink!)  After it was dry, I used a two-way glue pen on the cupcake top and sprinkled it with dazzling diamonds.  The cupcake was finished off using the small flower from the Mini Punch Set and a rhinestone!  The ribbon on the envelope is the Melon Mambo Dotted Scalloped Ribbon.
Easy Events - Wood #116985 - $32.95
Clear #123225 - $24.95

Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack - #118309 - $16.95 (Set of 3)
