Today's card was created by Megan S. and it features the Fabulous Florets stamp set that is both in the current mini catalog and....SURPRISE!  it will be in the Idea Book & Catalog as well!  She chose basic gray, always artichoke, and melon mambo for her color combination.  The greeting is from the Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set; which I am happy to report will continue to be available in the 2011-2012 Idea Book & Catalog!

It's A Girl....................

I want to begin by wishing a HUGE congratulations to my friend Kristyne Brandt and her husband Corey on the birth of their gorgeous daughter Ava Marlene Brandt!   Ava was born on April 9, 2011.  I know it seems really late for me to be doing this but I only recently received the actual birth announcement so I had to share it with you all!

Kristyne created this amazing birth announcement using the stamp set called, Friends 24-7.  Her color choices were Regal Rose, Certainly Celery, and Crumb Cake.

With an amazingly beautiful little girl like this, how could you not simply LOVE her!!!
This is one of the most adorable baby photos that I have ever seen!

Kris and I have been friends for several years now.  We met at our first Founder's Circle in St. George, Utah in September of 2009.  Since that time, we have been roomates at two Leadership Conferences, been joined at the hip at last year's Founders Circle, and convention 2010!  I can't wait to meet Ava in person in only two more weeks!!  She is joining her mommy and grammy at convention in Salt Lake City!!!

MDS Monday - Summer Days...

Well now that it is officially summer, (that means I am finally out of school for the year) I can't wait until I can get to the beach and get my tan on!!!   I have recently been diagnosed with Ehrlichiosis.  This is a tick borne illness and it has been kicking my buttocks!  I am having to take the antibiotic, Doxycycline, as treatment and with this Rx you are supposed to stay out of the sun!  How is this going to be possible for me?  NOT!!!  By now I am usually so tan and so happy!  I must find a way to still get some sunshine!  I will keep you posted.   So I couldn't resist creating this scrapbook page for this week's MDS Monday Challenge.  Our theme this week is Summer!  How is this for Summer?!

This picture was actually taken last summer when Paul & I visited the island of Antigua, courtesy of the SU! incentive trip program!

The background paper is from the Pink Flamingo collection and has the greatest color combinations for summer.  What I wouldn't give to be back there on the greatest beach in the world!

Spotlight on Rachel.....

I try really hard to share the work of my incredible downline team.  It has been a little while since I've shared the work of my friend, colleague, and downline - Rachel.  She has been creating up a storm lately and has been gracious in sharing them with me so that I could share them with all of you!  Hang on to your seats because there is some awesome stuff today!!!

This first project is a birthday card that she created for her grandson Cameron's recent pirate themed birthday!  Although the stamp set is retired, I just had to share it!  The set is called Ahoy Matey.

The 2nd project being shared is an INCREDIBLE wedding card!  Rachel is the queen of the pop up dies for the big shot!  I can not tell you how many of these types of cards she has done.  When our friend Ali turned 50 last August, she made a great card for her using this die!

Aren't these awesome!?

the final project that I am going to share with you today is her most recent.  She created this for her husband for Father's Day!  This is perfect for any golfer in your life!

It has been a lot of fun sharing Rachel's work with you!  I am sure that you agree that her work was worth dedicating my post to today!

...take me away

What is that song, "Sailing, take me away to where I've always heard it; Just a dream and the wind to carry me and soon I will be free."  I can't help but think of those lyrics when I look at this card!

It makes me want to be out on the water just relaxing and allowing the wind to carry me where ever it wants to.

Although not one of my creation, I love it!  It was created by Jane RK.  The card was created with Night of Navy Cardstock, then matted with Early Espresso and torn to give it that more "manly" look.  The image - Sail Away - was stamped with Night of Navy on Sahara Sand cardstock.  The bottom portion was embellished with the Nautical Expedition DSP and the new early espresso baker's twine!  All of these items are available in the Summer Mini Catalog on pages 8-11.
Items:

  • Stamp - Sail Away - #123013 - $9.95 (Page 11)
  • Nautical Expedition DSP - #122343 - $10.95 (Page 8)
  • Baker's Twine Espresso #123124 - $2.95 (Page 10)

I'd love to enter an order for you to recreated this great project!  Email me today and I can take care of it for you!

Sneak peak.....

I couldn't resist sharing one of the most beautiful cards ever with you!  I received this card from the Stampin' Up! home office.  I absolutely love the layout, the color combination, and most of all the new stamp set that is the focal point of the card!

The card was created with basic black cardstock then layered with pretty in pink.  The stamped focal point was done on basic black cardstock stamped with whisper white ink.  After being stamped it was then cut into three equal pieces.  The pieces are raised with dimensionals so that the center piece can have the "knot" put through it.

What do you think about the card?  What do you think of the new stamp?

Share your feedback with me!

................ Until tomorrow!

Retirement Party....

Well we had a great time at the SU! Retirment Party on Saturday!!  Tammy, Megan, and I each prepared one project for our guests.  When we were done with that, I took my giant bag of scraps and left over card materials and put it on the table and said, "Have at it girls!"  I gave them free reign on my stamp room and each of them created a couple of cards from the scraps!  We finished the day with pizza, salad, and great conversation!  Thank so much ladies for coming!!

L to R:  Rose Ann, Tammy, "Mom" and Carol
working from the scraps!

The card I would like to share with you today comes from a fairly new customer of mine, Sylvia M.  Believe it or not, Sylvia and I met because of an article that was published in the Reminder Newspaper about me and my stamping business.  She called me and we have been stamping together ever since!  I am so thrilled to be able to share her sample with you today!

She used the new floral set found in our mini catalog as well as the Paisley Petals DSP that was featured back in April which will be available in the new idea book and catalog beginning July 1st!

Want to get a brand new catalog for FREE!!!  Host a workshop in July and I will gladly give you one of these fabulous new cattys!!!

Love and Care

Today's card is one that I created merely by accident!  Last month I made swap cards for my club groups and created them on whisper white paper.  At the bottom I had stamped the greeting on all of the card I had cut and then in the final assembly I realized that I had stamped too many.  Rather than toss the cut cards I put them in my paper rack and said, "I know I will use these for something at some point."

When the time came to create this month's club projects, I pulled out those white cards I had cut and decided I just needed to cover up the stamping.    At first I was worried that my customers would think I was "cheap" or something!  But it turned out to be a great lesson on how a little "mess up" is just a place for more embellishing!!  LOL

I cut some early espresso paper and ran it through the Big Shot using the square lattice embossing folder.  I cut it on the diagonal and it fit perfectly to cover the previous stamping!  I also used the big shot for the focal point.  The scallop is cut from the Scallop Circle die and the center circle was cut from the circles #2 die also for the big shot!  The colors are Marina Mist, Early Espresso, Whisper White, and Old Olive.

The stamp set is called Love and Care.  It is a level 2 hostess set in the summer mini catalog.  There is still time for you to get this beautiful stamp set!!!  I would LOVE to plan a workshop for you and your friends!  Contact me today and we can schedule it!  I only have 4 more days of school so we can even do a morning workshop over some coffee!!!

Don't you ever wish that the post office would have the perfect stamp to put on your hand-stamped envelopes?  One that actually matches the creative project you have inside the envelope?  If only the creative people at Stampin' Up! (the ones that come up with all of the great ideas for stamp sets) could work for the post office too!  We might get something absolutely perfect like the images in the stamp set found in the Summer Mini Catalog called, Perfect Postage!  I created today's card using the

following cardstock colors:

  • Rich Razzleberry
  • Pretty In Pink
  • Early Espresso
  • Very Vanilla
  • Old Olive
I also used our marvelous markers to color directly on the stamps in order to have both the Razzleberry and Olive colors to coordinate with the project!  The finishing touch is the Razzleberry 1/4" grosgrain ribbon!

I couldn't resist using the Best Dad Ever stamp set from the Summer Mini Catalog!  The item #120681 (clear mount).  Getting the alternating tie colors was easy using our marvelous markers!

MDS Monday - Grandparents

Happy Monday!

Any of you that know me know that I have no parents or grandparents.  I don't even have any pictures in close proximity.  So it was only natural that I do today's MDS Challenge using Katelyn's grandparents - aka Paul's Parents!

The picture I used in this layout is of them on their wedding day!  I love the picture and really like how the layout turned out.  When I look at this picture of my mother in law, I can see Katelyn!

I used the To the Nines DSP and one of my favorite stamp sets, Baroque Motifs.

Thoughts and Prayers........

I know that it is Tuesday and time for another UDI Color Challenge.  This week I used our color palette and create a card with special meaning.

Our colors for this week are:

  • Basic Black
  • Old Olive
  • Always Artichoke
  • Pear Pizzazz

It is with a VERY heavy heart, deep sadness, and real regret that inform you all the my dear friend, colleague, and the very FIRST member of the Stamp-Patty's group, my friend Ali, has passed.  I was able to spend three afternoons with her this past week and I had no idea the end was that close!  She and I shared many laughs, we of course talked about stamping, the upcoming new catalog, and me helping her sell her retired goods!  You may recall that several weeks ago I held a fundraiser for her and her family.  I was able to raise $500 at that event.

Ali was the mom of 6 awesome children!  I have had the pleasure of being the teacher for 4 out of the 6 so far.  She was married to her best friend, Chris, for almost 25 years.  They were planning a special get away in October for their 25th anniversary.  Words can not express how sad and disappointed I am that such a wonderful, loving, and much needed lady could be taken from us!  May she be always remembered and cherished.  I will be planing another fundraiser soon so that I can help her family with final expenses.  I want to thank all of you for helping to help her and her family.  You are the BEST friends I could ever ask for!

In Loving Memory of Alison Padula - August 17, 1960 - June 4, 2011
I created today's card for Ali's husband Chris.  I created it using My Digital Studio.

...........Until toorrow!

MDS Monday - Happy Birthday Man!

Hello my friends!

I know that Monday's are difficult for all of us but I hope sharing my MDS Monday creations with you all make it a little easier!

This week's theme is a Manly Birthday Card!  I had a very difficult time with this because there are so few masculine stamps as it is....never mind that they have to be available in My digital Studio!

I chose a great color combination.  To me it just screams man!  Marina Mist and Chocolate Chip are the duo I chose.  The DSP is from the To The Nines collection.

The stamps I  chose are from the Party Hearty and the Extreme Elements sets.  I like the stitching as the finishing touch!

........... Until tomorrow!
