DSP Birthday.................

I received this great card from Tammy S. during our monthly club swap!  It is a great showcase for Stampin' Up! Designer Series Paper (DSP)!

Each of the squares was punched using our 1-3/8" square punch and then adhered to the front of the card.  Once all of the squares were placed on the card, the entire front was put into our Square Lattice Embossing Folder so that the squares could be in-laid into the card!

Simple, clean, fun, and LOTS of character!  Love it!

Trick or Treat......

Although the stamp set is a retired one, I couldn't resist sharing this card that I received with you!  It was created by a member of my monthly "Coffee Club" as a swap.  I apologize to the member but I can't remember which one it is!  (I'm gunna take a guess that it is Sue D - but I could be very wrong!)

Not a whole lot of time remaining to get your Halloween cards done!  I hope that this inspires you somewhat!

Word Play Birthday

Hey friends!

Today's share is one that is created using our Designer Series Paper (DSP) as the focal point.  This card is a great example of how to use those small scraps that remain!

The DSP used here is from our Celebrations collection. Did you know that this month, August 2011, you can buy three pkgs. of DSP and get one FREE?!!!!!

I reeived this card from a montly club swap.  It was created by Karen S. from RI.  The card itself is on whisper white cardstock and then layered with a 5-1/4" x 4" layer of Pacific Point cardstock.  The stamp set that was used for the greeting is called, Word Play.  It can be found in the Idea Book & Catalog on Page 156.

Today's project is one that I received from a club group swap.  This card was created by my great friend, Lucy T!

The stamp set is one that has been around for a couple of years now; but I never tire of it!  It is called Upsy Daisy and it is extremely versatile!

The card was made from Chocolate Chip cardstock and then layered in Bashful Blue and Very Vanilla.  The image was stamped in Ilsand Indigo (a 2011-2013 "in color") first in full strength and then a second time with a slight shift upwards and no additional ink.  After being stamped on the vanilla cardstock it is then cut into thirds and applied to the card front with a 1/4" space in between each piece!  The card is adorned with our Scalloped Dots Grosgrain ribbon; also in Chocolate Chip!

MDS Monday - Happy Anniversary to us!

Happy Monday everyone!  Today is my last Monday off!  :(  My summer vacation is officially over tomorrow!  Today our MDS Monday challenge was to create any project we wanted as long as it has a ribbon and a bow!  How perfect for me!  My project is a simple scrapbook page to wish my husband a Happy 24th Wedding Anniversary!!!

I remember the day we got married.  It was an extremely HOT, HUMID day!  I rode to the church on the back of a Mustang convertible and just as I arrived at church and got to the top of the steps, the sky opened up and it poured!!  It was raining so loud, the priest had to shout the words of our ceremony so that some of the people in the church could hear!  LOL  None the less, here we are 24 years later!

Another Wedding???

Well not a wedding, but tomorrow, August 22, 2011 will be Paul & I's 24th Wedding Anniversary!  So I thought it would be fitting to share this incredible project with you today.

This card was actually made by Jane K. - a friend and downline member for a recent swap.  The card is elegantly done in Black & White and of course adorned in pearls!

Both the "Groom" and "Bride" were made using the Full Heart Punch.  The texture was done using the the Elegeant Bouquet emobssing folder and the Big Shot!  The "tuxedo" was done using the heart punch and cutting a "V" out of it.  The bow tie is a piece of 1/4" Black grosgrain ribbon.

Heart Punch - Item #119883 - $16.95
Happy Anniversary Paul!  Love you lots!

Easy Events, Easy project!

When I attended convention last month, I received a stamp set called Easy Events.  Here is the art work for this stamp set:

Easy Events - Item #123225 - $24.95 (Clear Mount)
Item #116958 - $32.95 (Wood Mount)

The card that I created from this stamp set is a take off from one from my friend Frenchie!  I can envision an entire set of cards created from this set!  You can use the same embossing folder
(Stripes-Item#123128)   from the Idea Book & Catalog and different colored cardstock for each of the stamp images!

For the card I am featuring today, I used Pink Pirouette and Early Espresso cardstock and the focal point it stamped on Very Vanilla.  To accent the focal point, I used the Duo Square Big Shot Die and a piece of our new Dotted Scalloped Chocolate Chip Ribbon!

Stripes Embossing Folder
Item #123128 - $7.95

Very simple ..... but very reproducible!

Perfect gift card & a Road Trip..............

Well, I must first apologize for the missed day of posting!  I was away for five days on a little road trip.  My husband and I, and a two other couples, took off last Wednesday on motorcycles up for the woods of Vermont.  Further on in this post I will share pictures of our journey!  To sum up the trip I have the following:

1,000 miles + 6 Friends + 5 days + 4 Harley Davidsons + 3 Couples + on 2 wheels = 1 AMAZING ADVENTURE!!

Yup, that's right; 1,000 miles on my motorcycle over five days.  I am now hardcore!  I had to ride through thunder, lightening, pouring rain, and hail; but I had the time of my life and would do it all over again!

As for today's card share.....

It was created by one of my customers (I apologize if I get this wrong, my brain is still wet) Tammy S. from Moosup.  It was her swap card for the month of July.
Pictured to the left you will see the card and the punches that were used to create this masterpiece!  So simple and easy to reproduce!  LOVE it!

Here are some pictures of our road trip.

MDS Monday - Layers, Layers, Layers.......

How many layers can you put on a card!  Unlimited if you are using My Digital Studio!!  Layering is a breeze using this fabulous software!  Remember, when you print it, it looks like it is really heavy but it is actually a single flat piece of paper!  No extra postage required!

Our challenge for MDS this week is layers, layers, layers, how many can you create?  Can you guess how many are in this card?

I used the stamp brush set called French Foliage. My colors are Garden Green, More Mustard, Cajun Craze, So Saffron, Chocolate Chip, and Basic Black.  As you can see, I took the layering challenge to extremes!  Not only did I layer paper, I also did different layers of stamping; multiple backgrounds as well as multiple colors of images!

How about creating a multi-layer card and sharing it with me?

.............. Until tomorrow!

Happy I Do Day ................... No, I'm not getting married again!

Summer and Fall seem to be a busy time in the world of weddings.  I couldn't resist sharing this very beautiful and creative project with you all!  This came to me from one of my downline, Chris O!  I absolutely LOVE it!!

In this photo it appears that the colors are Nite of Navy and White but I will tell you that the actual card she gave me is Pacific Point and White.  Either way, I LOVE IT!   On the first layer of pacific point, she used the Garden emboss folder, stamped the saying from the stamp set, Word Play, and embossed them!
The focal point of the card is obviously the "wedding dress".  Can you tell what was used to make the dress?  Yup, you guessed it!  The Manhattan Flower embossing folder!  She embossed two layers - one white cardstock and the other vellum cardstock - together.  She carefully cut out the flower as desired to create the dress and voila a masterpiece!  Here is a close up of the "dress"!

Adding the ribbon and a simple pearl certainly put the finishing touches on it, don't you think?

Thanks for sharing Chris!

Hello, Doily

Hey my friends!

Today I am sharing another of the August club projects!  When I say the Hello, Doily stamp in the new catalog, I just knew I MUST have it!  Not only did I get it but I got it for FREE at Convention!  It is a large background stamp -- just as the Medallion is.

This project is one that is VERY simple yet elegant.  It is easily reproduced and would be an awesome gift for someone if you stamped them in several different colors and changed the greeting on them.  Perhaps that will be one of my mother-in-laws Christmas gifts!  The card shown here is a card base of Whisper White, then a layer of basic black cut 4" x 5-1/4".  The top layer is another piece of whisper white cardstock that is cut 1/8" smaller on both the length and the width.  The doily was stamped with basic black ink as was the greeting.  The ribbon is our black satin.  Can you also see the "speckles" of black on the project?  That was done with our color spritzing tool and your basic black marvelous marker!

The greeting on this card comes from the stamp set Perfectly Penned -- this set I also got FREE at Convention!

Below are the images of both sets as well as the item numbers and prices so that you can go directly to my 24/7 online store and place your order!

Hello Doily - Item #122845 - $17.95

Creativity in a new direction..........

Leave it to a twenty-something to find something new to do with your Stampin' Up! designer series paper!  As you know, during the month of August you can buy 3 and get 1 FREE on our DSP!  I guess Katelyn has decided this is the month to create something out of the ordinary!

I found Katelyn in my stamping room actually creating!!  Much to my surprise and something that I never thought of... she was trying to decorate her iPhone!

Using the Paisley Petals DSP, she created a "Designer iPhone embellishment"!

Of course one was not enough, so she created a 2nd one.  Both of them fit under the clear-backed cover so she can change them when ever she'd like to!
Great when you can think outside the box!
