Hearts A Flutter

Still trying to get caught up on all of the things that I just haven't had a chance to do.  With the winter weather that landed on us this weekend, I am hopeful that I can spend the last couple of days off in my studio creating new projects with all of the fabulous new products from the Occasions Catalog!

This sample was one I found while I was on Stampin' Connection.  It showcases the Hearts All A Flutter products!  The card is whisper white and then is layered with basic black.  It is embossed with the Perfect Polka folder.  All of the banner pieces are made with the Hearts a Flutter product bundle; including the framelits!  This project also uses the new build-a-brads and our fabulous whisper white organdy ribbon!

.............. Until next time!

Happy 50th to Paul

Yesterday marked the 50th year of my dear husband Paul's birth!  While we didn't actually celebrate in full style yesterday, have no fear because I planned a huge surprise party that was held earlier this month!  I did this so that he wouldn't expect it!  lol  I created the invitation using MDS 2 and couldn't resist sharing it with you all!

Believe it or not, I managed to keep the party a total surprise!  So much so I have to share a comment that Paul made when he arrived at his own party.  We managed to get him to open the door to the room where everyone was hiding and they all yelled, "Surprise!"  he immediately slammed the door shut and said to us, "Holy crap...I just crashed someones party!"  I couldn't help but laugh hysterically and we had to get him to open the door again!

Here are a few photos from his half century bash!

A special thank you to Brielle and Dawn R. from NJ for their special gift of Harley Davidson plates and napkins!  They were used to serve all of the birthday cake to the 80+ guests of the party!

Here is the "old" guy with our beautiful daughter Katelyn!  Special thanks to Katelyn as well!  She helped me to plan, set up, and run the whole party!  Love you guys!

I will be sharing the most beautiful birthday card ever!  It was send to Paul by our special friends the Griffith family from MI!!!  Keep your eyes peeled for this one!

Belated Christmas Wishes....Men's Night 2012

A belated Merry Christmas to all of you!  As I write this message I think about how I am so blessed with good health and love of family and friends and my Stampin' UP! business.

I trust that you all had a wonderful holiday with those that are special to you!  Paul and I actually ventured away from tradition this year!  Katelyn was busy with the beau's family so we took advantage of being home alone on Christmas Eve and finished installing our new kitchen floor and the newly assembled and finished cabinetry for our new island!  While I am totally thrilled with the way it is

turning out, I will be so happy when it is all done! My SU! business has really taken a back seat and I apologize to ALL of you!

I have so much to get caught up on!  I haven't given you any details on my Men's Night event either!  I didn't want to share the project with you because I didn't want to ruin the surprise for any of my customers!  I am hoping that by now you all have received your beautiful hand-made creation from your other half and now I can share with everyone!  lol

I had 6 great guys that came for the event and as I always say...this is my favorite event of the year!  I wish I had a hidden camera to video the evening because I know you all would LOVE to watch it! These guys keep me laughing and they never cease to amaze me with their talent and words of wisdom!
Here is one of the finished projects that they did!  We used Night of Navy cardstock and the Petals 'O Plenty embossing folder for the card base.  Using the silver and champagne glimmer paper, we cut snowflakes with our big shot die and dimensionaled them to the card.  We finished them off using the taffeta (white) ribbon!

I want to take this opportunity to thank each and EVERY one of you for your support and loyalty during 2012!  I am wishing you a very happy, healthy, prosperous, and stampingly awesome 2013!!  I can't wait to stamp with all of you!!

HUGS!

Merry Christmas from SU! and me!!!

I apologize for being AWOL lately!  I am hoping that once the surprise party that I am throwing for Paul tonight is over I will be able to get back to my business and all of YOU!

I want you to know that I think of you all often and without all of you I would have no outlet for sharing what I love so much!  THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart and Merry Christmas to you and your families near and far!

Rubber Hugs!

Christmas Wall Art

Today I would like to share something a little bit different with you!  I have to thank my pal Patty B. from California for sharing an idea with me.  Her idea sparked this for me!  At my recent downline meeting I decided that instead of swapping full sized greeting cards, we would swap squares.  These squares are 1-1/2", have a Christmas theme, and will be put into a frame to make a great piece of wall art!

I will share the finished product with you once I have them done!

Do you Remember Me?

Do you remember me?  I am afraid that you won't if I stay away much longer! lol  I have been a very crazy woman (what else is new, right?)!  Having gotten through a fabulous Thanksgiving, including a 3.5 mile run on Thanksgiving morning I have just not had a moment to sit here at the computer and share with you all!  I apologize.  I suspect that the next few days will be spotty but I am trying to get back on schedule.  This week I have had a stamping event of one sort or another every single night this week.  I am not complaining because it is what I truly LOVE doing!  Then in the midst of all of this, I have been trying to post and I have had troubles with the blog!  It keeps telling me that I have used all of my available server space!!!  So I went back a few years (in blog posts that is) and deleted my first year's worth of posts!  That took quite some time and still wasn't enough!  I had to actually go through all of the photos that I have uploaded and delete a bunch of them too!  I think that will hold me for a short while.

Anyway.....You may also recall that we have been in the midst of reconstructing our kitchen space.  I thought I would share some progress photos.  Of course my favorite of all of them is the Thanksgiving tables set for our special feast!  This is the first time, in my 25+ years of marriage, that ALL of the Chenail's got to enjoy dinner in the same room and at the same table!  No kid's table this year!

Hopefully this post reaches all of you and I am back in business!!!

Holiday Ornament Scrapbooking Layout!

Hey scrapbook fans!

For those of you that think you can't use rubber stamps because you are a scrapbooker, think again!  How about those fabulous "Holiday Keepsakes Ornaments Stamp Set"?  I think they make a great focal point for this page!

I started with 12 x 12 cherry cobbler cardstock and used gumball green accenting.  The DSP is from the Be of Good Cheer package (another of my favorites!)  The "string" for the ornaments was cut from our silver glimmer paper and the "tie" is a piece of our cherry cobbler tulle ribbon just tied in a knot!
For the right hand page, I used the new Big Shot die called, "Snow Flurry-Bigz Die". I cut the snowflakes out with the silver glimmer paper as well!    The die is found on page14 of the Holiday Mini Catty!

Below you can see a close-up of those great ornaments on the left hand page!

Scentsational Season Candycanes....

Here is the third, or is it fourth, of my Scensational Season stamp camp samples!  I love the set so much that I just can't keep track!  lol

For this project I focussed on using the candy cane image!  I stamped them three times and cut them out using the matching framelits.  They are mounted to the card using dimensionals to provide some additional texture!

The card is whisper white and the bottom half is embossed using the new Lacy Brocade embossing folder found in the 2012 Holiday Mini Catalog.  The patterned paper is from the Be Of Good Cheer DSP package and the greeting is from the More Merry Messages stamp set!

................ Until tomorrow!

Special post for a special customer!

Sometimes I just have to break the mold and share something a little different!  Today I am doing just that!

At one of my recent club gatherings, one of my customers brought a stack of cards that she had recently created.  This fabulous lady creates lots of cards using lots of materials!

Carolyn D. shared her projects with such pride and rightfully so!  I just had to share one with you!  She used some of the SU! retired cardstock and some other supplies that she had.  She is fairly new to SU! and still gathering supplies.  I loved how she used the lace to border her greeting!!

Great job Carolyn!  Thanks so much for sharing!

.........Until next time!

Hot Off the Press!!! Don't miss out!!!

OMG!  As if Stampin' Up! hasn't created enough excitement with our product specials this month!  Along with our INKredible ink offer I now have BIG news to share!!!  SU! has just announced the following:

Due to our partnership with Sizzix, we are pleased to be able to offer a test run of the Texture Boutique Embossing Machine in our North American markets. We have 4,000 available to be sold only while supplies last. If this product test goes well, we may offer the Texture Boutique again in the future.
The Texture Boutique works with Textured Impressions Embossing Folders to transform ordinary cardstock, paper, metallic foil, or vellum into an embossed, textured masterpiece. This machine embosses only; it does not die cut. Because this is a product test, the Texture Boutique is not branded with the Stampin' Up! logo. It comes in Sizzix packaging and is the same color and design that is sold in stores. We recommend you read the included instructions before using the Texture Boutique and that you pass the same recommendation on to customers who purchase it.
'Tis the season of giving, and the Texture Boutique makes a wonderful gift for anyone who wants to create their own elegant embossed art. To help you with your gift-giving needs, we're offering a special value bundle that saves you $5.90. If you prefer, you can also purchase the Texture Boutique alone. Looking for stocking stuffers? Pick up some additional embossing folders.

Scentsational Season - Gingerbread boy and girl

Here is another of my projects from the Scentsational Season stamp camp!  I find this one rather adorable if I do say so myself!

Look closely at the Gingerbread kids!  There is a boy - wearing a bow tie....and a girl with a bow in her hair!

You may be wondering about he bow in her hair?  I created this using the small heart from the Owl builder punch!  Yup, that's right!  I punched two hears and using a glue dot put the end of each heart together.  I then used a rhinestone in the middle to make it look like one piece!

The card is made on whisper white cardstock with a layer of cherry cobbler and then another layer of gumball green and some of our fabulous DSP from the "Be of Good Cheer" assortment.  Using the scalloped square bigz die for the Big Shot, I created the start of the focal point.  It is cut from cherry cobbler cardstock and then a large whisper white square.  The gingerbread boy and girl were stamped in Soft Suede ink, cut out with the holiday framelits and then mounted with dimensionals!  As a finishing touch I added the cherry cobbler scalloped polka-dot ribbon!

Thanksgiving Decor Tray

Morning friends!

Hard to believe that we are already in the Thanksgiving preparation phase!  For me I am beyond Thanksgiving, wrapping up the Christmas, and already planning my projects for the new year!  (I know...don't rush it; but I want to be ready for all of your needs!)

Today's share is one I promised you!  It is the second of our Printer's Tray Decor class!  This month's theme as you can tell is Thanksgiving!  I am proud to say that this is my original design!  I again used My Digital Studio to create the top center piece of the tray.  All of the other sections use big shot products or some of our fabulous Stampin' Up! rubber stamps!

The DSP is from the Holiday Mini catalog.  It is called "Orchard Harvest".  I also used the Autumn Accents Bigz Die, the Cannery Framelits from Page 29 of the mini catty, and the woodgrain embossing folder too!  I have already designed the Christmas tray and will share that with you soon!

........ Until next time!
