Wedding on the Beach

Who says that footprints are only for baby projects?!  Thinking outside the box is what led to these wedding invitations!

A long time friend of mine, whom I had lost touch with for a while, is getting married on the beach on Tybee Island, GA soon and I created these for her!

The base of the card is Crumb Cake.  I then added a layer of Early Espresso and another layer of Crumb Cake.  The focal point is a combination of Crumb Cake, Early Espresso, and Whisper White.  I layered two pieces of the white and used my sponges to color them with Pool Party and Marina Mist. I used the foot prints from the mini catalog set called, "Baby Prints".  I added some of our natural hemp twine and some half shells that I picked up at my local craft store.  To finish them off, I used crystal effects in small droplets and let them dry.  I did this to give them a water splashed/droplet effect!  The final touch required the use of the Color Spritzer tool and the Early Espresso marker.  I spit little drops of color all over the invites.

Of course I had to create some coordinating Thank You Notes for her as a gift!  I used the pre-cut / pre-scored notecards from the back of our big idea book and catalog.

I can't wait until she gets to see them!  I sent them priority mail on Friday and I am hoping that she got them yesterday or at the latest today.....especially because I am sharing them with the world and I don't know if she has seen them yet!

................. Until tomorrow!

  1. Talk about thinking outside the box!! These are truly wonderful and I'm sure no one else has ever had anything as neat as these. Tybee Island is a great place for a wedding. Very creative and unusual - great!!

  2. I saw them and we both think they're the prettiest, coolest, most totally non-heinous invitations we have ever seen. Love you lots!
