"The Happiest Place on Earth" ...

***REMINDER -  Today is the FINAL day to order from the Occasions Mini catalog!!!  Don't miss your opportunity to get these exclusive products before they are gone!

Of course I promised I would share some of my Disney adventures with you all. We arrived on Saturday and for our first 1-1/2 days we have found our way around this beautiful resort and spent a lot of time outside at the pool.  My stampin buddies all arrived today so I was able to spend the day catching up with all of them.    Here are some photos from around the resort, including the view from our balcony of the garden area, the pool, and a few others!

On Saturday night we decided to head to Downtown Disney.  We have never been!  What a great place!  So much to see and do!  We had to visit the Harley Davidson store....big surprise there, right?!  and we had dinner at this awesome place called Fulton's Crab House.

This incredible dragon is made from Legos and it is in the lagoon at Pleasure Island!  there were MANY other incredible Lego displays but this one was my favorite.

Upsy Daisy

Hi friends!

Today I am sharing another project that is using retiring stamps.  This is one set that I am sad to see go!  The stamp set is called, "Upsy Daisy".

I used whisper white cardstock for the top layer.  Inking my stamp image in versa mark ink, I then embossed it with the heat tool and whisper white powder.  Once the images cooled down, I used some of our stampin sponges and 3 ink colors: daffodil delight, rich razzleberry, pacific point.  I applied the ink in a rainbow on the project and then wiped the excess off with a tissue.  To tie it all together, I added a razzleberry and pacific point layer under the focal point!

............. Until tomorrow!

The coastline of Nantucket, from Madaket Beach to theCoskata-Coatue Wildlife Refuge is lined with beaches and bike trails galore. Surfside Beach provides the waves for bodysurfing and the wind for kite flying, while Children's Beach is perfect for families. These beaches are accessible by shuttle or bike trail.

We will set sail from Hyannis, MA at 9:20 am - We will arrive in Nantucket at 11:10 am  You will enjoy some stamping activity and many giveaways during our two hour cruise.  Once in Nantucket, you will have the day to do what ever you would like!  Perhaps it is shopping, dining, or sight seeing!  The boat will set sail from Nantucket at 4:00 pm and you will arrive back in Hyannis at 6:10 pm.

The fun does NOT have to stop here!  I am working with a hotel in Hyannis to get a block of rooms so that anyone that wants to can stay the night and enjoy a SU! shoebox swap in our jammies!!  What do you think?  Are you in?  What are you waiting for? UDI Color Challenge #84 - Field Flowers / ....And the Winner Is......

Happy Colorday to you all!  It is Tuesday and that means it is color challenge day!  Here are the colors for this week!
  • Daffodil Delight
  • Basic Black
  • Whisper White
The first thing I thought of when I saw these colors was a bumble bee.  Not having any great stamp choices for this, I then thought of something floral.  I pulled out my Field Flowers stamp set and went to work!

Having the new daffodil delight seam binding to work with made the finishing touches on this project great!

The card base is daffodil delight.  It is then layered with whisper white and I stamped my images using basic black and daffodil delight.

VERY simple and VERY reproducible!!

In addition to this week's color challenge, I am excited to reveal the winner of the blog color challenge!! ...............................
WOW!  What a hit!  I can not believe how many people visited the blog to view all of the awesome creations that you submitted for this contest!  Thank you to all that participated and thank you to ALL that cast a vote and follow my blog!  I am truly blessed by all of you!!!

Here is the winner's project!

It was done by:   Brenda D. from Moosup, CT

MDS Monday - Let's Layer!

Happy MDS Monday!

Difficult day today!  It is my first day back to school after having a BEAUTIFUL week off!  It was beautiful for a couple of reasons....First, the weather was absolutely incredible!  We reached almost 90 degrees one day, in the 80s for a couple others!  So much sunshine!  Secondly, I disregarded my "To Do" list (which will catch up with me this week!) but I was able to sit, relax in the sun, and READ!  something I rarely find the time to do!  So, yesterday, I sat at my computer and tried to create today's MDS project.

Today's challenge is layering!  Create a project with LOTS of layers!  This is what I came up with!

I started with a layer of Summer Smooches DSP.  I then added a layer of Tempting Turquoise cardstock.  My next layer was an image from the Eclectic Overlays stamp set.  I then added a layer of Daffodil Delight cardstock punched with a circle punch.  The final layer was an image from the stamp set called, Delightful Dozen.  To put my "prettiness" into it, I just had to add some Rose Red Seam Binding!!

Of course, I can't resist sharing the most recent digital downloads with you!!  Lot of great new stuff to update your MDS program!  Share some projects with me please!

............. Until tomorrow!

Creative Punch Art

Many of you know that I am now part of a woma's boxing team.  We workout/train every Sunday morning and Wednesday night.  Last weekend we had our banquet and celebrated the groups success over the last 6 months.

Our regular trainer is John.  He is a rough around the edges kind of guy, works us REALLY hard, but has taken us to levels we never thought possible!  Along the way, his nickname became the Tin Man.  This came about because of his having no heart.  Of course, this is NOT how we feel about him...but the nickname just stuck.

I couldn't resist trying to create a Tin Man using my SU! punches.  I created a shadow box for him and made the Tin Man the focal point.

Our second trainer is Greg, he is the coach that works mostly with the men's team and ocassionally with us.  Of course I had to make a shadow box for him too!  Here are the photos of that box.

I created the boxing gloves using the large wide oval punch and the really small oval punch.  I found a clip art image online and printed them out on my printer and attached them to the bottom of the oval!

......... Until tomorrow!

UDI Color Challenge #83 - Just Believe

Hello my friends!  This week's challenge really reminded me of the colors of Spring.  Our colors for this week are:

  • Daffodil Delight
  • Pear Pizzazz
  • Pacific Point
  • Whisper White
When I saw the color challenge this week, I had NO problem coming up with an idea!  The colors really struck me I guess.  here is what I came up with!

I used some of the In Color DSP and the brand new Daffodil Delight seam binding.  I layered my focal point with both the pacific point and the daffodil delight before stamping my "Just Believe" images on the whisper white cardstock.

Speaking of color challenges....I am working on getting all of the entries that I received for my challenge to you all loaded and posted.  Keep your eyes peeled!  I will be posting them in a couple of days and the voting will begin!  The winner gets a stamp set of their choice!!!!

.............. Until tomorrow!

MDS Monday - A Color Challenge

Hey everyone!  Our MDS challenge this week is to create with only 3 colors!  They are:

  • Basic Black
  • Always Artichoke
  • Whisper White

No rhyme or reason as to why I created this card for today's color challenge.  When I thought about the color Pear pizzazz, it automatically made me think about the fruit.  Having only one image in my MDS software, I decided to use it.  The rest just came along after using this image.

If you are wondering about the words or type that you see, I did that by adding a text box onto my card and typing what I wanted it to say.  I recently found an incredible website that allowed me to download 100's of fonts absolutely FREE!!  Did you know that MDS works with ALL fonts installed on your computer!!  Think about this... I downloaded about 200 fonts!  Now I have 200 more alphabet sets to play with!!  All for FREE!  In case you are like me, here is the website for you to download some FREE fonts for yourself!    http://kevinandamanda.com/fonts/fontsforpeas/

Here are the latest downloads for MDS from Stampin' Up!!
