Sponge painting with Framelits

Happy Friday everyone!  Today I am sharing another of the projects that I presented on stage at the SU! Providence, RI Regional event!  This is another of my framelit stencil projects!

I couldn't resist the Petals O'Plenty embossing folder to make this project really pop!

The colors are whisper white, cherry cobbler and crumb cake tulle to finish it off.  If you look closely, you will also see one of our vintage faceted buttons with the jewelry tag Merry greeting!

Stay tuned for a video to show you how to create this great image using our framelits!

Manhattan Flowers in Summer Starfruit

Gotta love this one!  I absolutely LOVE the color combination here!  This is summer starfruit and basic black and of course whisper white!

This project was done by one of my very talented customers, Tammy S, from Moosup, CT.

She used the retired stamp set Manhattan Flowers and our floral bouquet embossing folder to really make this project pop!

Thanks for sharing it Tammy!

Thinking outside the box................

Happy Monday everyone!

This is one of the projects that I created for my stage presentation at the SU! Regional in Providence, RI on Saturday!  I will have a video up soon showing you how I "painted" the balloons!

When I looked at the Holiday Ornament Framelits, I was trying to think outside the box.  I was looking intently at them all trying to see something other than Christmas ornaments.  I certainly did see much more!  Stay tuned this week so that you will see more of the projects that I created with these framelits!

The greeting for this card is from the hostess set called "Wacky Wishes".

Bootiful Ocassions

Hey friends!

Here is a fabulous project using the rain boots from the stamp set, Bootiful Ocassions! I absolutely LOVE this one!

Using Staz-On ink, the image was stamped on a piece of Patio Party DSP and then cut out!  I think using the DSP was an ingenious idea! It makes the boots look so real!  I know that everytime I see the adorable prints on the rainboots in the shoe section of my local Target I get the giggles thinking out adorable they are.  I have a most treasured pair of rainboots!  They were given to me as a "Pillow Gift" when I attended Stampin' Up!'s Founder's Circle for the very first time in 2009.  They have the same design as a DSP that was popular then called, Cottage Wall; and of course the SU! logo is on them too!

This adorable project was created by my most lovely assistant, Marlene!  She is such a keeper!  Thanks for this great card my friend!

Love and Laughter

Good morning stamping friends,

Although it is one day late...I couldn't resist sharing this card with you all!  For those of you that don't know, yesterday, August 22, 2012, was Paul & I's 25th Wedding Anniversary!  Yup, that is right!  We celebrated 25 years of married life!  I can not even believe that it has been that long.  It certainly doesn't feel like it!  I thought I would share another picture with you.  Several weeks ago, we had our annual summer party and during that party I got into my wedding gown and we renewed our wedding vows!  I surprised Paul by wearing the dress and I had a cake made to serve to our guests.  The cake had an edible copy of our wedding photo on it!

As for the card, it was created by one of my customer's, Judy.  It was created for her granddaughter's bridal shower this past weekend! The colors are wisteria wonder and whisper white.  The stamp set is called Love and Laughter and the wedding dress is stamped and embossed on silver.

Wishing all of you a great day!

......... Until tomorrow!

Video - Holiday Ornament on Cover of Holiday 2012 catalog!!

Hey everyone!

I am sooooo excited to share this video with you all!  I first want to remind you that I am such an amature!  It is totally obvious in this video!  It is hard to create and video yourself at the same time!  I want to apologize for the camera actually dropping in one spot!  LOL   I apologize also for the length of this video...it was about 19 minutes long!  It was so long in fact that I couldn't upload it to You Tube...so I am not sure this is going to work.  I have spent hours trying to edit this video so that I could get it to within 10 minutes!

For those of you who attended my class on Saturday, you will be so happy to have video instructions to refer to when you make more of these!   Because of all of the steps involved in making the ornament, I that even with the edits you will be able to recreate the ornament  For those of you that could not attend the class, I believe that I have gotten the important aspects in the video.  If you have ANY questions about quantities or dimensions please email me and I will be happy to help out!   Enjoy!

I also wanted to show you a few completed ornaments.  This first one is the one that I created in my video (it is a duplicate of the one on the cover of the Holiday catalog.  The second photo was sent to me by Laurie L., one of my downline divas, who also attended Saturday's class.  She must have gone right home and created this! The third one is from Kim H.  She created hers using Designer Series Paper.  When you use DSP, you can cut 3 layers of framelits at a time!...a real time saver!)

For Laurie's project here is what she sent to me:

"I used Baja Breeze, Primrose Petals on Whisper White.  The medallion is from Snow Festival DSP.  I used some rose tulle I had from another project."

Thanks to both Laurie and Kim for sharing these!
Thanks for watching and I apologize for the rough editing!  I'm still learning!

Joyous Celebrations

Here is the other project that I created with the Core'dinations cardstock!  I will be using this project for an upcoming Christmas card class/stamp camp!  (Stay tuned for details)

The layer on top of the card is created with the Core'dinations cardstock in Cherry Cobbler.  I sanded it with our new sanding block (as shown in Thursday's video) and then used the stamp set, "Joyous Celebrations" from the Holiday Catalog to create the center of the embossed image.  By the way, the embossed image was done using the new folder called, Holiday Frame, from the Holiday catalog!  Both the Christmas tree and the greeting are also from the Joyous Celebrations stamp set!

Nature's Walk

Here is the first of two follow-ups for Thursday's video.  This project was created using the new Core'dinations cardstock found in the Holiday catalog.

The stamp set featured here is called "Nature's Walk".  It is found in the big Idea Book & Catalog.  To accent the woodgrain in the background, I used one of our framelits from the Apothecary Accents collection to stamp on.  Using Early Espresso Ink, I stamped the birdcage.  I then used our marvelous markers in Gumball Green and Raspberry Ripple for the floral pieces.  I colored directly on the rubber and stamped once in full ink and then many times in what was left over on the stamp!  I also used early espresso for the bird.  I cut him out, used a sponge to apply a small amount of raspberry ripple to his belly and then did a glittery technique using versa mark ink, heat and stick powder, and a product called Irridensent Ice embossing powder.  I LOVE how the wood grain really makes this project pop!  Tomorrow I will share the 2nd project shown in Thursday's video!

Convention 2012 Samples

 Hello everyone!

I was flipping through all of my SU! Convention 2012 photos and thought I would share a couple of them with you today!

I have no idea who the creators are because these are items that were on display in the demonstrator resource center.

I am embarrassed to say that the sample to the left...I don't even know the name of the stamp set!  lol  However, being a math (spatial) type person, I love the layout (symmetrical-block design)!

The colors are also rather soothing to me!

This project is just too cute for words!  The "flower pots" and the flowers are ALL created from paper!!

The talent is amazing!

The Great Outdoors

I am so thankful that a group of scrapbook lovers have come into my life!  Thank you so much to my 2nd Monday of the month group!  This is what we will me making for this month's scrap layouts!

I love being able to create scrapbook pages again and I love the happy faces that I see around my table each month when these gals get to create some ready made pages to take home and add photos to!

This month we decided that our theme would be camping.  Who says you can't use stamps on your scrapbook pages?!!  This will surely prove them wrong!  I used the stamp set called, "The Great Outdoors" found in our big Idea Book & Catalog.  Here are the individual pages so that you can get a better look.

I'd love to start a second scrapbook night!  Anyone out there interested?  Let me know if a  Thursday night is good for you!

Googly Ghouls

For those close to me, you know that I am NOT a Halloween kind of girl!  I have always thought it to be a really silly day.  I especially began to dislike it 12 years ago when I became a teacher.  Why, you ask?

It is a day that the students go absolutely insane!  The days that follow this "holiday" are just as bad if not worse due to the 3 meals a day of sugar that the kids consume!
That being said, I do have to admit that I purchased not only one but two Halloween stamp sets from our new Holiday catalog!!  I just had to have the Googly Ghouls stamp set so that I could use the adorable googly eyes!

Not only did I get the stamp set, I also got the Ghoulish Googlies Designer Printed Kit.  This kit is so awesome!  You get everything you need to reproduce this adorable treat bags!  There are glassine bags (this means you can put just about anything in them, wrapped or not).  You can use them for cookies or veggie sticks and they will be fine!  You also get the blank tags to stamp on, and a sheet of the googly eyes!!

Here is a close up of the cute little mummy!  Love him!

Happy Hour...........

Well many of you know that each summer I have a big Tiki Party.  This year was no exception.  The difference this year is that we also combined our upcoming 25th wedding anniversary with it to make it another reason for a party!  (as if I need one)!

With the Tiki Party fresh in my head, I just had to create this card!  I used the new stamp set called, "Happy Hour" to create both the daquari and margarita drinks!  If you look closely you can see the sugar and salt on the rim of each of the glasses!

The "bar" was created using crumb cake card stock and two of our incredible embossing folders!  I used the brand new Wood Grain folder and the Striped folder to give it the tounge and groove look.

I finished it off using our decorative label punch and one of the greetings in the set.  It reads:  "Any hour spent with you is Happy Hour!"  Of course I couldn't resist a little bling to finish it off!

Where ever you are, or what ever you are doing, I hope it is a Happy Hour for you too!

Video - Blue Ribbon Rosettes

Happy Wednesday everyone!  I decided to take another whirl at the wonderful world of videos!  Keep in mind I am not a video professional AND I did this all by myself!  That means video taping myself, creating the project, putting the finished video together, and uploading it!  I hope you enjoy it!

Yesterday I posted a project for the color challenge.  Today I am showing you HOW I did it!

Let me know what you think!  I am working on another video for next week!

UDI Color Challenge #99 - Blue Ribbon

Well it has been a couple of weeks since I have been able to participate in the UDI Color Challenge.  This week uses an amazing combination of colors!
  • Midnight Muse
  • Pool Party
  • Summer Starfruit
I can't help but recall my VERY young years of cheerleading!  Back when I was a young gal, I was a cheerleader for the team called the Rams.  These were very close to our colors.  In honor of my cheerleading days, I just had to create a card with that inspiration!

I used the fabulous Rosette Die for the Big Shot, one of our new embossing folders #127819 - Lacy Brocade and the stamp set Blue Ribbon.  Stay tuned for tomorrow's post because I am going to do a video!  This video will show you how to create this card quickly and easily!!

MDS Monday - A Great Project using MDS2!!

Happy Monday everyone!  I want to apologize for being M.I.A. for a few days.  I have had so much going on...let me fill you in! I first have to say that I think that my life has been the craziest that it has been in  a LONG time!  For those of you who know me well, you know that I have been training on a women's boxing team for about 6 months now.  Part of my training has gotten me into running almost every day.  The day I left Salt Lake City to fly home from convention I told the gals that I was traveling with that my right calf was really "tight" or sore.  By the next afternoon, while out for my daily run, I could not finish.  I could barely walk on my right leg.  I was convinced that I must have over-worked it and that I just needed to rest it.  I rested it for a full week!  I tried to run the following Monday and again the pain was too much.  I called the doctor and visited him last Tuesday.  It went downhill from there!  lol   I spent the majority of the day between his office and the hospital.  I had blood work, x-rays, and an ultrasound of my leg.  They found a small blood clot  behind the knee of my right leg ....or at least they thought they did.  On Thursday I had a follow-up ultrasound.  The radiologist herself even came into this one and watched the technician do her thing and the the two of them work on the leg.  Turns out I have some funky anatomy in that leg that presents itself as a blood clot when in fact it is not!  Anyway, I still have the pain in the leg!  From the very first visit with the doctor, he stated that he felt something was going on with my lower back and that is what is causing the pain in the calf.  I have since had an MRI and am now waiting for the results of that!  So as you can see, not much time for stamping and blogging this week!

Enough about all of that!  Here is an awesome project that was created using Stampin' Up!'s brand new released MDS2!!  It was done by my pal Joan in honor of our annual motorcycle trip (which is scheduled for this week!)

Here is some info on this awesome product and upgrade!  Best thing is...you can try if for FREE for 30 days!!  I know you will LOVE it!

.....Until tomorrow!
