CREATIVE ELEMENTS

Today's project is a beauty!  It was created by Chris O., one of my girls!  It showcases the stamp set called "Creative Elements"  and the fabulous Mocha Morning DSP!

It is sad for me to think that a catalog retirement is right around the corner (May 30th) because that means all of the Designer Series Paper that we love so much will be leaving us!

This photo truly does not justice to this project!  The texture of the DSP is amazing.  The top portion uses the crumb cake background and the black "suede like" swirls.  I call is flocked paper.

Thanks for sharing this one Chris!

.............. Until tomorrow!

Quilt in a card............

For all of you followers out there that also like to quilt, how about a quilt in a card?!!

I created these beauties as an invitation for a surprise 85th birthday for one of my colleagues' mother-in-law.  When I asked him what his mother-in-law likes to do he said quilting so I went into action and created these!

Having a math background is helpful when you are trying to figure out how big your paper needs to be!  I used my 1" square punch to create the
quilt squares.  I knew that if I used them 4 across and wanted them to touch the sides, I needed a 4" square piece of paper!  The DSP that I used is the Everyday Enchantment DSP found in the Sale-A-Bration catalog!  The background color for the patterns I chose is poppy parade.

After getting the squares placed just right, I put the whole 4" square into the Square Lattice Embossing Folder and ran it through the big shot to make it look quilted!

For those of you wanting to get the Everyday Enchantment DSP, you need to hurry because when Sale-A-Bration is over, the paper will be gone!

You only have ONE day left to get your FREE Sale-A-Bration products!!!!

Place your orders directly through my blog or email them to me and for every $150 in orders that I receive, I will randomly select someone to be the hostess to receive the FREE $25 in merchandise!!

............... Until tomorrow!

You Rock!

I want to thank Laurie C., one of my customers, from Putnam, CT for sharing this great project with me!

Although the stamp set she used is retired, we have a current one in the idea book & catalog that would work just as well!  I've included the images below.

If you look closely at the guitar on Laurie's card, you might be able to see the cherry cobbler dazzling details that she used!! It makes the electric guitar look like it is a metal flaked one!

This is a great card for the music lover or male teen in your life!

UDI Color Challenge #80 -

Lots of color for you this week!  Here is our pallet:

  • Basic Black
  • Certainly Celery
  • Island Indigo
  • Old Olive
  • Rich Razzleberry
  • Not Quite Navy
I had a REAL difficult time with this color combination!  There were too many colors for me to work with and I found that by trying to put too many together had me creating things I didn't like.  I then sat down and strategized with the stamp set and inks and thn worked the paper and accesory(ies) into it!  Here is what I came up with:

You have to look really closely (I wasn't able to capture it really good in the photo) but you can see the pear pizzazz and razzleberry in the tree buds and the little girl on the swing is also in razzleberry!  The card itself is very vanilla and the 2nd layer is not quite navy, next is the old olive and another layer of vanilla.  The tree has black, pear, and razzleberry in it and the only place I used the island indigo is the bow!

MDS Monday - Celebrate Earth Day and New Digital Downloads

Hello my friends!  This week our MDS Challenge was to create a project that celebrates Earth Day or Nature.  I couldn't resist creating a scrapbook page using one of my photos as the background paper!  Back in August, Paul and I took our annual bike road trip with our friends Tim & Joan and Bart & Sue and spent four days in the beautiful state of Vermont.  Talk about nature and earthy?!!!  We stayed in a small town called Warren, VT and there was a beautiful waterfall very nearby the cabin we stayed in.  I took this great picture and had to use it as the background for my scrapbook page!

The picture on the top left is of Paul and I in front of the same waterfall; while the one on the bottom right is of us in front of one of many covered bridges of VT...this one called the "Kissing Bridge".  Of course, we couldn't resist!  We put more than 1,500 miles on our motorcycles during this trip and spent a great deal of time in and out of the Green Mountain National Forrest.  We experienced, thunder, lightening, pouring rain, and even hail during this trip.  We were fortunate enough to have a couple of days of very warm, sunny riding weather too.  We drove home (about 8 hours) in the pouring rain.  Didn't mind because I had experienced some of the best riding ever!   This year's road trip will lead us up to Lincoln, NH and the Kancamagus Highway!  Hoping to see some moose!

Have any of you done a road trip?  How about you create a scrapbook page with them and send them to me so that I can post them?

NEW DIGITAL DOWNLOADS!!

Did you know that EVERY Tuesday, Stampin' Up! releases brand new digital downloads that you can purchase directly from my site, download to your computer, and start using immediately?!!!  Yup, that's right! EVERY Tuesday!  The best part...you don't pay shipping either!  Every Monday when I do my MDS posting, I will share the previous Tuesday's downloads with you so that you can click onto my online store and purchase them for yourself!  I love having new DSP's, stamp brush sets, and templates to play with and I know you will too!

Here are the downloads from Tuesday, March

Fabulous Butterflies

I don't know about where you all are...but here in CT it has been THE most incredible March I have ever experienced!  It hasn't been spring...it has been like summer!  We had two straight weeks of 70-82 degrees!!! (Who says global warming is a bad thing?!)  Those of you that know me well, know that I hate wearing shoes.  I wear flip flops when ever I can.  I will tell you all that I only had to wear shoes 2 times this winter!!!!  I am on the hunt now for new flip flops because ALL of mine (and I have many) are worn out from 363 days of wear!!

So anyway, today's project just had to be shared with you all.  It is such a reminder of the beautiful time of year that we are in.  This project was created by Rhonda H.  She is a fairly new member of the Stamp-Patty team.  She is an incredible stamper and an even more incredible demonstrator!   The project uses:

  • Beautiful Wings Embosslit - Item #118138 - $11.95
  • Up In The Air Hostess Only Stamp Set - (W) #122475 / (C) #122477 (Occasions Mini)
  • Whisper White Cardstock - Item #100730 - $8.50 (40 sheets)
  • Perfect Plum Cardstock - Item #101889 - $6.95 (24 sheets)
Enjoy the beauty of Spring! ............... Until tomorrow!

Mixed Blossoms Punch

Morning my friends!  Couldn't resist sharing this cheerful, spring-like project with you all.

The stamp set used for this project is called, "Mixed Bunch" (this is the set we are using at tomorrow's stamp camp!)  I LOVE this set because in just a few very short minutes you can create a beautiful project.  The images are bold and punch out perfectly with the coordinating Blossoms Punch.  Both of these products are available in the Occasions Mini catalog...but only for another month!

Another reason I like this project so much is believe it or not the only color cardstock you need for this project is whisper white!  The base of the card is white and all of the adorning flowers are stamped and punched out of white paper!  If you also look in the background on the top portion of the card, you will see that the Adorning Accents Embossing Folder - Hearts was used.  I hope that you can also see from this picture that the center of the flowers were also punched out with our 3/4"circle punch and then popped up using dimensionals.  The leaves can be punched from a scrap piece of DSP using the Build a Blossom Petals Punch.  I have to thank Judy L. from my downline for this great project!

................. Until tomorrow!

Mixed Bunch

Here is another great project made with the stamp set, "Mixed Bunch"!  For those of you attending my stamp camp this coming Saturday, you now have another sample to create with the set we are using that day!!

This project was shared with me by Megan S. at my last downline meeting.  It showcases the Twitterpated DSP, the Mixed Bunch Stamp Set, and the Loving Thoughts stamp set!  I love the blushing bride, pear pizzazz, and wisteria wonder combination!!

Of course the amazing flower is easier than you can imagine to cut out....there is a punch that coordinates with the set that all you do is line it up and punch it out!  Voila!  Magic happens!  Great project; VERY simple to duplicate!  Love it!!!

MDS Monday - Celebrating Spring at the Beach

Happy Monday everyone!  I don't know about where you live, but here in CT yesterday (and this entire last week and next) have been some of the best "Winter" days I have ever experienced!  The weather has been so warm it is amazing.  I feel like I picked up residence and moved to a southeastern or southwestern place!

My daughter, Kate, was home on spring break from college this past week and one of the days that the weather was so gorgeous,  she and her boyfriend decided to take Scooby Doo on a Beach Adventure!

While I was slaving away at work she was sending me pictures via the cell phone to share the adventure with them! They were enjoying a picnic and lots of walking time on the beach.  They actually brought a beach blanket and laid out in the sun!  The pictures were so adorable, I couldn't resist creating a scrapbook page with them!  You will see in the photo on the top right Scooby Doo with her head out of the car window.  She is reflected in the side mirror!  lol  On the top left is Kevin and Scooby just chillin and enjoying the sun.  Apparently Scooby's future is so bright shes gotta wear shades!  She really is too much!

Everyday Enchantment

Here is a project shared with me by
one of my downline, Chrysty, from New Hampshire.

This features the Everyday Enchantment DSP from our Sale-A-Bration products.  She ran it through the Big Shot using the Vintage Wallpaper embossing folder and then started layering.  The flower ws done using the Scallop Circle punch and Cherry Cobbler cardstock.  The "flowers" are punched, wet and crunched, let dried, and then layered. The entire card is spritzed with shimmer / smooch spray.  (See my earlier blog post for the recipe for this spray - Click Here)

For the final touches of texture, she used Baja Breeze Seam Binding and the Victoria Lace Trim!  Beautiful!

Seriously??......Or not....

Today I am sharing a project that was sent to me from a great customer - Laurie from Coventry, RI.  Laurie makes and sells her cards and she shared this one --which is a color change from one that I created for my club groups some time ago.

(You can view the previous one by clicking HERE)

This project uses the stamp set called, Not So Seriously.  Laurie used Melon Mambo, So Saffron, and Blushing Bride cardstocks for her combination.

Thanks for sharing Laurie! You can find her creations at her website:  www.lmlcreations.com

Create A Cupcake

Today our project showcases the cupcake builder punch and many of our fabulous designer series papers (DSP).

The card was made from whisper white cardstock. The second layer is basic gray, the next layer is rich razzleberry that has been run through the big shot using the Perfect Polkadots embossing folder.  The layer to the left is whisper white and then a piece of our rich razzleberry DSP.  The cupcake what created using the cupcake builder punch and more of the razzleberry DSP as well as some DSP from the Eat Cake collection.

I want to thank Janice T. from Thompson, CT for sharing this card with me!  She recently had surgery and I am hoping that my post today will find her feeling more like her 'ol self and brighten her day!

.............. Until tomorrow!

UDI Color Challenge #78 -

I'd love to see how these colors inspire each of you!  Please share your projects with me!

  • Daffodil Delight
  • Wisteria Wonder
  • Old Olive
  • Very Vanilla
I can't help but think of a beautiful Spring bouquet when I see these colors.  It was a no-brainer for me to use the stamp set called, " Just Believe".  I immediately thought of this stamp set when I saw this challenge!  The long strands of grass and the beautiful, soft flowers...I couldn't resist.

I used very vanilla for the card base and for the focal point.  I then added a piece of Old Olive DSP from the awesome DSP stack - Bold Bright collection.  I added a layer of wisteria wonder cut a little larger than the vanilla that I stamped on.  I did this so that I would have a nice place for my daffodil grosgrain ribbon.

I used my marvelous markers to color directly on the stamp from the Just Believe set.  I used the old olive and the wisteria wonder.  For my final pieces I used daffodil delight and very vanilla cardstock for the greeting and stamped the greeting in old olive ink.  This greeting is another of the great pieces that are part of this stamp set.

.... Until tomorrow!

MDS Monday - St. Patrick's Day

Hello friends!

Today's MDS project is to share either something green or to celebrate St. Patrick's Day.  I have chosen to do both!

The clovers on this project, as well as the word St Patrick's are brand new digital downloads from the Lucky Me stamp brush set!

If I had this challenge next week, I would have made a scrapbook page instead!  We have an Annual St. Patrick's Day party to go to on Saturday night so be on the lookout for a page sometime next week.

Until tomorrow!

Celebrating a friend's special day.....

 Hello my friends!

Yesterday was a great day!  My dear friend (and wingman), Lucy, celebrated her 50th Birthday and we planned a great day!  We headed into CT's capital - Hartford to see a live production of Les Miserables.  It was a wonderful show!!  After the show I planned for us to have dinner at Vito's On The Park.  It was a great choice!!  The best eggplant I have had!
You know it wouldn't be an event of mine without some sort of SU! created item.  I used our amazine doily sizzlit die and our Serif Numbers dies to make some decorations for the table.  Of course I had to use black cardstock to make the big 5-0 stand out!

After dinner, we had her open her gifts and one of the gifts was accompanied by this gorgeous birthday card! It was made by our great friend, Joan B.!!

The whole crew of us outside of the Theater after the show!
Here I am with the birthday girl!  I hope you had a great day my friend!  Thanks for letting me be part of it!  Wishing you many more!

......... Until tomorrow!
