Patriotic Decorative Tray

Hey friends!  I know you are probably wondering why I would be showing you a patriotic home decor item when summer is nearing an end??!!

Well there are many reasons!  First being this is the last of my Decorative Tray Club designs!  I can't believe that we have been together for a whole year already!  This "club" formed last fall and we met every month for a year so that the gals could have a different themed insert for each occasion that may arise.

My second reason for the patriotic theme is that our little town of Moosup, CT is the only town left in the USA that celebrates VJ Day.  We have a HUGE parade to celebrate our veterans and honor those that have fallen.  It is always celebrated the 2nd Sunday of August so I thought it was fitting for us to have a tray to celebrate that too!  The 3rd reason is that Labor Day is quickly approaching and that day too reminds me to be patriotic!  I think that of all the tray inserts that I have created, this one is going to get the most use!

Cardstock Colors:  Crumb Cake, Night of Navy, Real Red, Whisper White
Stamps:  Perfectly Penned and a very old set called Home of the Brave
Accessories:  Rosette Die, Alphabet Dies, Apothecary Accent Framelits,
Punches:  Pennant Builder, Scallop Circle, 1-1/4" Circle, Word Window, Mini Star, Mini circle

What ever your Labor Day brings, I hope that you enjoy it fully and celebrate it with those you love!

Spooky Halloween Banner

Hey everyone!!!  Happy Wednesday!!

Just had to share this video with you all today!  Tonight I have 10 great friends coming to make this banner with me!  Of course they all think that I am out of my mind having this class tonight!  Although today isn't my first day back to school, it is the kids' first day back.

I'm sure that the day will be absolutely fine!  Not worried in the least bit!  Besides, what better way to get over it than to have 10 friends over to create a work of heart?!!

I will post pictures soon of everyone hard at work!

............. Until next time!

Betsy's Blossoms Lazy Days Scrapbooking

Hey Stamping Friends!

I hope that my post today finds you all well and happy!  While you are reading this, I will be on my way back to school!  Yup, that's right, my "Lazy Days" are over!!!

Any of you that know me fairly well know how much I love and worship the days of summer!  This year is the first summer in three years that I have not had to be on medication for a lyme related illness.  As a result, I took full advantage!  Everyone keeps telling me that I look like I am from a country south of the border!  lol

Today's project is one that I did with my monthly scrapbook club this month.  It showcases the stamp set called, "Betsy's Blossoms"; which is in our big idea book & catalog.

The pages themselves are 12 x 12 basic black cardstock, the photo mats are summer starfruit and I used the 2012-2014 In Colors to accent the pages.  The page title was stamped with the "Morning Post Alphabet" and I used Raspberry Ripple, Gumball
Green, Midnight Muse, and Primrose Petals on the letters and Summer Starfruit on the floral accent.

Using the Floral Framelits and the In Color Designer Series Paper Stack, I cut the floral pieces to complete the pages.  If you look closely at the center of a couple of the flowers, you will also see that In Color Dahlias!

Although my summer vacation has come to an end, I plan on enjoying MANY more summer type activities....riding my motorcycle, swimming in my pool, going to the beach, and catching some more sun!!  I hope that you make time to do the same!

........Until next time!

Glittery Napkin Cards - Bonus VIDEO!!!!

I have to start today, Thursday, August 22, 2013 by saying Happy 26th Anniversary to my fabulous husband Paul!!  Although we have only been married for 26 years, we are nearing our 32nd anniversary as a couple!!  Life is always a new adventure with him!  I NEVER know what I am gunna get!  Here are just a few things he has done over the years:

1.  One year for Valentines day, he created a billboard - homemade from plywood and spray paint - he basically said..."Patty - after 16 years, will you still be my Valentine?"  He put it at the entrance to the highway so that then entire town could see it!

2.  He usually remembers that my birthday is on the 15th day of the month....he just never remembers what month!  This means that sometimes my birthday gets celebrated at the totally wrong time!

3.  Just last Saturday, he thought it was my birthday!  lol  I did remind him before he got out of control that he was too early but that our Anniversary was only a few days away.  Putting that into his memory bank he took me to a local car show.  When we got there he took out a table, cheddar cheese slices, crackers, a bottle of wine, and a candle!!  Yup, we sat there with about 500 on lookers watching us have a candle lit snack at a car show!  Great just to see the reactions!

Well, enough about us!  Let me share an exciting technique with you all!  I call this my glittery napkin technique!  I think you are all gunna love it!  Watch the video and then the sample cards I have provided will make more sense!

So, now that you have seen the video and seen the samples, would you like to come to a class to do this with me?  I have had a request from many to hold a class where you can bring your own napkins and play away!!  Interested?  If so, either email me or make a post here to the blog so that I can see if there is enough interest to hold such a class!

Kids love stamping too.............

One of the many things I like about summer is the opportunity to share my love of stamping with a much younger crowd!!  This summer was NO exception!  I had the pleasure of spending a morning with five of the greatest young stampers on the planet!  I had two young men and three young ladies last week for a couple of hours of fun!

My little ladies each received the stamp set, "Dress Up" found on Page 55 of the Idea Book & Catalog; while the little men got to choose either "Rev Up The Fun" or "You're My Hero" - both found on Page 51 of the Idea Book & Catalog.  Each of them made four projects with me that I designed for them and then they got a couple of blank cards/envelopes to take home and create more projects with their stamps!  I am truly hoping that they
or their moms will share those projects with me when they are done!

A special thanks to the two moms that helped out!  Couldn't have done with without you both!

Thanks to Katie, Ava, Lily, JJ, and Andrew!

ALL supplies are Stampin' Up!  The layout is 12 x 12 - Night of Navy Cardstock.  The accent colors are Whisper White, Real Red, and Silver Glimmer Paper!  The banner pieces are cut both from our Banner Framelits and a couple of our punches!

Toil & Trouble

Hey there friends!

Been a little while!  So sorry for the lack of posts! They days keep getting away from me!  Not that I haven't been creating...just not enough hours in the day to post to all of my social networking places!  lol

Today I am sharing a simple but great Halloween project.  I know people always think I am rushing it but did you know that all of the fall beers and ales are already out?!!!  So with that said, it is NOT to early to show you Fall/Halloween ideas!

This card was created using basic black cardstock - cut in a "hot dog" fold rather than a "hamburger".  The next layer is embossed with the houndstooth embossing folder for the Big Shot on Pumpkin Pie cardstock.  The top layer is Very Vanilla and was stamped with the stamp set from the Holiday Mini Catalog called "Toil & Trouble".  After being stamped, it was cut with one of our Apothecary Accent Framelits--also for the Big Shot!

Are you wondering what the black and white skull images are from?  Look no further!  That is our INCREDIBLE Washi Tape!  It is one of three rolls that is part of our fall/halloween collection!  All you do is roll it out, tear it, and stick it on!  I love the added touch!  This project was created by a member of my downline, Brenda, for our recent downline swap!  Do't know about you, but I LOVE it!

There are some products you just have to see in action before you realize how much you need them, right? This is one of them!  These new card dies come with extra die pieces that have versatile designs, so you can use them on other projects, not just flip cards. (The Circle Card Thinlits Die comes with 10 total pieces; the Label Card Thinlits Die comes with nine total pieces.)

With the number of dies you're getting, plus the die that creates the card itself, the price is a great value-especially to create an interactive card!
