Artistic Etchings

Can you guess the creator of this project?  For those of you that follow this blog closely or who know me so well....this should be an easy question!  The first one to post the correct answer on the blog (not via email) will win a SU! accessory item!!

This project showcases the stamp set called, "Artistic Etchings".  Of course I love this card because of its vintage look and feel.  The card base is from soft suede cardstock.  It is layered with basic black and then whisper white; although you would never know there is white cardstock because it has been altered so beautifully!  I am going to attempt to give you a supply list; however, once the winner is determined I will have to ask the creator everything that was used!  lol

Supplies:

  • Stamps - Artistic Etchings
  • Cardstock - soft suede, basic black, whisper white, rich razzleberry
  • Ink - basic black, rich razzleberry, soft suede
  • Tools - Labels Collection Framelits, Build a Bird Punch, Boho Blossoms Punch, Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder
  • Accessories - basic pearls, champagne shimmer paint
Don't wait....post your guess!

Luck of the Irish....or not.....St. Patrick's Day Printer Tray

Ever get so stressed out about a project that you put it off until the last minute and then when it is finally done you wonder why you stressed about it in the first place?

Here is a prime example!  Several months ago, I started a home decor club using the Stampin' Up! exclusive printer tray.  Each month or 6 weeks, I design new inserts for the tray and all of the gals that have one are invited to come and make the new inserts.  At our last gathering they asked if I would do a St. Patricks tray.  Of course I never say no.  When I sat down to actually design, I started to freak out because I did not have much in my stamp studio in the way of this holiday!

Thanks to My Digital Studio and the use of the world wide web, I am very happy with how it turned out!

Thanks to a very talented demonstrator named Susie, I found this very creative Leprechaun.  I changed him a bit to fit my needs and I love the way he turned out!

  • 1-1/4" Square punch - Hat
  • Bitty Flower Punch - Hat
  • Build-a-Bird punch - Eyebrows, Mustache, Nose
Above you will find the photo of his feet.  I used:
  • Top Note Die - 1/2 of it then cut in half again
  • Scraps of daffodil delight and black for the buckle
  • scraps of gumball green DSP for the stockings

What are you waiting for?  Don't you want to do more with your SU! goodies than only making cards? You need to get into my home decor and/or scrapbooking groups!!  Also, keep your eyes open for a great class that I will be offering soon!  JEWELRY!!!  Yup!  I have created a video too!  Stay tuned!

Feeling Sentimental about Sale-A-Bration

Are you starting to feel a bit down because Sale-A-Bration (SAB) is almost over?  No need to be!  Let's keep the party going!!!  The way I see it, we still have 4 weeks!!!  For every $50 you spend between now and March 22, 2013, you will receive a FREE item from the 2013 Sale-A-Bration Collection!

I absolutely LOVE the SAB set called, "Feeling Sentimental".  If you know me, you know that I love vintage anything!  I created this project using some left over pieces I had from a large Christmas card order I did.  I put the pieces together and just felt the need to turn it into a vintage project.  Of course I reached for this set!

If you look real closely at the two layers holding the ferris wheel, you will see that the edges are distressed.  I created this effect by using our new distressing tool!  This is the best $4.95 I have spent on product in a while.  It is a MUST for anyone that loves distressing as much as I do!

Inspired by Love .......................

Good morning everyone!

Aren't you intrigued by a great love story?  Do you read romance novels like I do?

I read them because the wild and crazy stuff that happens in them is not anything I'm going to experience in my life time!  lol   So, I guess I will stay as happy as ever and content with the love I have in my own life!

I received my copy of Stampin' Success last week. (For those of you that don't know....you don't know what you're missing!  This is a publication for demonstrators only to inspire and inform us of what is happening.)  In this issue there was a great scrapbook page and it inspired me for my final project for my upcoming Vintage Sale-A-Bration stamp camp!  All of the attendees at next weekend's camp will be making this 8 x 8 page...perfect for framing!!

Materials used:

  • Pool Party Cardstock - 8 x 8
  • "loving heart" verse is from the More Amore Designer Series Paper!
  • All of the remaining items are from the Artisan kit in our Occasions Catalog!

Scrap the Day Away - and boy did we!

Have you ever just wanted to spend the whole day doing something you love?...like scrapbooking?!  Well, then you should have been with us yesterday because that is just what we did!  I had a group of gals that spent about 8-1/2 hours with me and created 20 full scrapbook pages!!  (That's right, 20!  They did 10 double page spreads!)

Here are a couple of the layouts that we did!  The one above is a baby layout using certainly celery, marina mist, and so saffron cardstock.  I used the new mini butterfly punch and the elegant butterfly punch to embellish the page!

To the right is a birthday layout using the Morning Post Alphabet Stamp set, and the tasteful trim big shot die!

The next all day scrap event will be in the fall!  If you are interested in a great event, make sure you don't miss out!

Feel Goods

Happy Sunday!

Today I am happy to share with you a project created by Missy S.  She did this as part of my Ocassions Mini catalog swap.

The card base was cut using our new dress up die.  The focal point is one of the fabulous phrases from the stamp set called, Feel Goods.  It is beautifully adorned with a real tea bag and one of our incredible new vintage flowers from the mini catalog!

Thanks so much for following me!  I truly appreciate ALL of you!

Madison Avenue - Oh happy day....

Oh happy day after the Blizzard of 2013 to everyone!   I am sooooo tired of shoveling!  All I can think of is Spring!!!

Today I am sharing another of my monthly club projects!  It is a project made from all Sale-a-bration products!  The stamp set is called Madison Avenue.  The greeting is from another Sale-a-Bration set called, Bloomin' Marvelous.  I couldn't resist adding a little texture to the mix.  The Vine Street embossing folder, another of our fabulous sale-a-bration items, created this!  In the center of the flower is one of our In-Color dahlias.

To finish the whole project off is some of our calypso coral coral ribbon....also from the sale-a-bration collection!

My colors are:

  • Tempting Turquoise
  • Whisper White
  • Lucky Limeade
  • Calypso Coral
  • Summer Startfruite
Hopefully spring will get here soon so that we can see the tremendous colors of spring!

Frameable Wall Art........

Ever create a stamped project that was just too pretty to put away but your friends thought you were silly for keeping it around? Well I have a solution for you!

I love to receive hand-stamped/hand-made projects and I tend to keep them sitting on my shelves, hanging on my refrigerator, or on display in my stamp studio for a LONG time!

A couple of months ago, I got a great tip from a fellow demonstrator on the other side of the country!  Instead of doing full card swaps with the members of her downline, she created a small square swap.  I decided to give this a try!  For our November downline meeting, each attendee brought a 1-1/4" - 1-1/2" stamped or punched square with a Christmas theme to swap with each other.  At the end of the event, we had 11 squares each.  I arranged my squares onto a piece of crumb cake cardstock and found this great frame at Wal-Mart for $3!  I added a stamped image and now I have a fabulous piece of wall art that I can hang every Christmas and remember the fabulous girls that helped make it all possible!

My girls loved this idea and we decided to carry on the tradition.  At our January meeting we swapped Valentine themed squares.  As you will see by the photo below, some of my girls decided they didn't want to keep it square so then ventured out!  I love how my finished wall art turned out!

We are moving on to a Spring theme next!  As soon as it is done, I will share it with you all!

Does anyone want to participate in a square swap?  I'd be happy to host one and then you all could make a piece of wall art and send me pictures.  I could post them here and have a little contest!  Winner gets a stamp set!  Leave a message on the blog post (no emails) to let me know if you would like to participate!

By the Tide....

For the last two days I have certainly felt like I am closer to summer!  I have been able to comfortably wear my favorite flip flops, short sleeve shirts, and I even ventured out in a thin sweatshirt jacket!  Not bad for the end of January!!!

This project warms me right up!  It brings on all the things I love about summer.... "pool party" cardstock that is, sea horses, seaweed, and sea shells!  Bring on the beach!  A special thanks to Jenn T. from Canada for this great creation.  It also uses the Chevron embossing folder for the big shot, the new big shot Clearlit Die called, Happy Whale (the anchor on the medallion), and some of our new natural trim ribbon!  Here is a list of supplies:

  • Cardstocks - whisper white, island indigo, pool party, calypso coral, crumb cake
  • Big shot - Chevron embossing folder, Clearlit - Happy Whale
  • Punches - Scallop circle, 1-3/8" circle, 1-1/4" circle
  • Accessories - 7/16" natural trim ribbon, pool party embossing powder (seaweed)
  • Ink - Versa mark, crumb cake
  • Stamps - By the Tide
