Spring Dayz Scrapbooking

Here is a great 2-page layout for you....just in time for all the Spring photos that you capture!  I created these for my Scrap the Day Away day a few weeks ago.
I used Marina Mist 12 x 12 paper for the pages.  I then used some Whisper White ink and a sponge to create the clouds on the page.

The flowers were created using scraps of Daffodil Delight, Real Red, and Pumpkin Pie cardstock and the 1-1/4", 1", and 3/4" circle punches.

The adorable bumble bee on the right hand page was created using the Ornament Punch and the 1-1/4" circle punch as well as the Build a Blossom punch.

Scrapbooking - Sweet Pinwheels...

Are you as excited about the start of spring as I am? !!!

I think that my project for today screams of spring days.  March is a somewhat windy month here in Connecticut and if they could, these adorable little pinwheels would be spinning quickly!

These pages were a couple of those that I created for my Scrapping the Day Away event a few weeks ago.  The pages themselves are 12" x 12" and they are Calypso Coral.  The side bars are stamped on whisper white cardstock with Calypso Coral, Pool Party, and Wisteria Wonder classic inks using the "Sweets For The Sweet" stamp set.

The pinwheel embellishments were created using the Sizzix sizzlit in our Occasions Mini catalog!  The stem of the pinwheel was done using toothpicks!  I added a bit of In Color ruffled ribbon to each of them for a final finishing touch.

So Sorry............

Unfortunately, sometimes we have to send out cards for sad reasons.  I must admit that I never keep sympathy cards on hand in the studio....call me superstitious but I have had to create way too many of them over the last couple of weeks.

Here is one of the several designs that I created.  I wanted them to be simple but to show that I really cared.  I think I was able to achieve that.

For these simple, clean, and pretty cards I used:

  • Whisper White Cardstock
  • Primrose Petals Cardstock
  • Vintage Faceted Buttons
  • Baker's Twine
  • Field Flowers Stamp Set
  • So Sorry Stamp Set
  • Classic Inks:  Primrose Petals, Certainly Celery

Amazing Friends and Family

Are you old enough to remember what it was like to be in school and the teacher actually wrote on a black board?   Well, I hate to date myself...but I am!

I just had to create something that brought back the old days!  This project is the result of that!

Using products from our Occasions Mini Catalog, the card was created from Pink Pirouette cardstock with a layer of basic black cardstock.  Using the "Tea For Two" designer series paper and the Hearts a Flutter framelits, I created an adorable banner across the front of the card.  How do you make it look like a chalkboard?  I used my SU! emboss buddy!  I rubbed it across the front of the black cardstock, embossed my greeting using white ink and white embossing powder and did not clean off the excess chalk created by the emboss buddy!

Supplies:

  • Cardstock - Pink Pirouette, Basic Black, Tea For Two DSP
  • Stamps - Amazing Family
  • Ink - Whisper White
  • Accessories - Hearts a Flutter Framelits, White Emboss Powder, Baker's Twine, Heat Tool (for embossing), Emboss Buddy

Open Sea Petite Pocket Card

Hello everyone!  In need of a great man card?  Here you are!

Yes, I am still alive and well!  Things have just been a bit crazy for me!  A good crazy but it is amazing how quickly time passes!  I can't believe how many days it has been since I have given you a post.  I am truly sorry!!

We are approaching the very end of Sale-a-Bration!  :(  Sad I know....but also great!  To me it means we are that much closer to our NEW catalog!

Today I am sharing a project from this month's club.  It showcases the Petite Pocket die and the stamp set, Open Sea.  What I love most about it is that the card itself uses only 1/4 of a sheet of cardstock!  It is a flat card and the message gets put

into the pocket!  Similar to a message in a bottle!
The colors are cherry cobbler, crumb cake, and night of navy.

Supplies:

  • Cardstock - Cherry Cobbler, Crumb Cake, Night of Navy, Naturals Ivory
  • Stamps - Open Sea, Word Play
  • Accessories - Petite Pocket Die, Petite Curly Label Punch (Sale-a-Bration)
  • Classic Ink - Crumb Cake, Night of Navy

Your Amazing......Scrapbooking

I love being able to share the latest designs that I have created for my scrapbooking customers!

This two-page layout is one that we did during our all day scrapping event a couple of weeks ago.

It showcases two stamp sets:
  • You're Amazing
  • Blue Ribbon
The pages themselves are cherry cobbler 12 x 12 cardstock and the designer paper that I used is from the "World Spectacular" collection.
These layouts are perfect for capturing the memories of a day at the circus or from a birthday party!

I am creating a second scrapbooking club!  Contact me today if you want to get in!  For only $15.00 per month you will create a double page layout!  If you spend $25 or more the night of the class, the $15 class fee is waived!

Kickin it with Katie...... I need your help!

I know how much of a giving community stampers are!  Well, I need your help!  Actually, I need you to help a wonderful young lady with her quest to beat Ewing Sarcoma (Bone Cancer).  About a month ago, the life of this girl was perfect.  A model student at my school, daughter, great student, and all around athlete.  She suffered an injury to her foot at basketball practice and instead of hearing the results they thought they would, her family was hit with her diagnosis of cancer!  At 11 years of age, you never think this is what you would hear!  How can you help?

I am holding a stamp camp fundraiser!  Here are the details:

Date:  Saturday, April 6, 2013

Time:  9 am - 11:320 am

Location:  Thompson Middle School - Cafeteria
                  785 Riverside Drive
                  North Grosvenordale, CT 06255
Cost:  $25.00 per person

Includes:  Stamp Set - "Moving Forward" and the creation of 4 projects!

How will this help?  $5.00 from each registration as well as my FULL commission on the sale of product will be donated to the family!  In addition, because the stamp set is this year's Ronald McDonald stamp set, Stampin' Up! will donate $2.00 from the sale of each set to the Ronald McDonald Charities!  You will be helping out in more ways than one!

CAN'T ATTEND?  You can still help!  Register anyway, get your materials to go and make the projects at your leisure!

In addition....  I will have a raffle table of SU! goodies!  EVERY $$ received from the raffle will go to the family!

Jewelry Fun..........

Did you ever look at your Stampin' Up! product and wonder,  what else can I use this for?  I had to do just that recently!  It was another of those things that stressed me out at first...but I am very happy with the results (now that I asked a few trusted friends that they thought first!  lol)

About two weeks ago, Stampin' Up! contacted me and asked if I would do a share presentation while on the incentive trip to Fiji!!  Of course when SU! asks you to present anywhere...you should always say yes and worry about it later!

As the deadline approached for having to submit my share description, I got more stressed.  Thank goodness I was on school vacation and had some time to work it out!  I decided to focus on some of the accessories in our Occasions catalog; specifically the soda pop tops and the new designer build-a-brads!

It has been a long time since I played with my jewelry tools so I decided to see what happened when my tools met these new products!  Of course those aren't the only items I used but I am going to let tomorrow's video give you the details on that!  Stay tuned!
